Thoth Posted May 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2004 I'll be on the Oosterdam when it visits Victoria BC the last week of July. The problem is that the ship is only there between 8 PM and Midnight. Since I am second seating, will I miss dinner that evening?
CruiseIsGood Posted May 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2004 There are plenty of dining/eating alternatives, other than your assigned seating. You can even get a room service sandwich and take it to go. But there is a dinner buffet on most all ships as well as a grill.
serene56 Posted May 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2004 You will miss dinner in the dining room but there are other options for you to grab something to eat before you get off the ship. Rare geoherb Posted May 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2004 When our ship (Star Princess) stopped in Victoria, the dining room adjusted the time for dinner ahead a half hour. Our waiters let us know this the night before. We also had second seating. Even with dinner being moved up by half an hour, we would not have had time to do an excursion. We decided to stay on the ship since we had stayed in Victoria for three nights a couple of years earlier and seen the major sights. The dining room was very empty. Thoth Posted May 13, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Thanks for the input! These port hours 20:00 to Midnight are crazy. Since I have never been to Victoria, I'll be doing a city tour and High Tea at the Empress Hotel.
