The ship is freakin' amazing!!!

We boarded about 12:30 and went to our rooms after getting a Cold Tasty Beverage. In a junior suite and it is SOOOO nice!

We went exploring and then sat in Olive or Twist for an hour or so. People watching is so much fun from there!

All of our luggage came so we are unpacked. You wouldn't believe how much more room there is in a junior suite compared to a regular balcony room.

Muster was a huge drag, but when isn't it? 100 degrees packed like sardines...but then I thought to myself, I wouldn't get to do this if I weren't on a cruise! Lucky me!

So we're getting ready for dinner.

My advice - make dinner reservations IMMEDIATELY! Chops and Portofinos are booking up fast!

Tell you all more later!

Cool about the JS roominess. We'll have to try one some day.

Thanks, looking forward to your posts, but please don't feel compelled to report on everything. This is your vacation, after all. ;)

Be there in a week!

We go on the exact same itinerary on the Liberty in 2 weeks on 8/25 and were wondering if you could get shots of the Menus and Compass from each day so we can decide when to book Chops/Portofinos and what activities to do each day. Anything you can shoot and post would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I'm on the October 6-13 "Paula's (Deen) Cookin at Sea" sailing on Liberty. I'm looking forward to reading your postings. Love the shots of Liberty from your hotel room and at the port... she's magnificent.

A co-worker is going on the same Paula Deen cruise. I suggested it to her since she has never cruised before I thought a "group" cruise would be fun for her. She is single. I am hoping she enjoys the ship as well as cruising. I plan to forward any tips you have!

The JS has 100 sq ft more, which like adding another 10x10 room. I can't imagine anything smaller - we didn't really feel like we had much 'wasted' space.

And I LOVE the Crown - that's all DH keeps saying, of how much he can't wait to get back to the Crown to sip Cold Tasty Beverages and people watch.

Where are you getting your connection? Is there wi-fi in the Crown still? How fast is the connection?

Tell your coworker we'll have to get together for a drink. I'm travelling single, and CruiseOne matched me with another single from Texas; we're sharing a balcony on Deck 7. As it gets closer to cruise time, please put me in touch with her so we can exchange names and cabin numbers. Cheers!:p

Can't wait to hear more - we sail in 6 months. Like others, your input to help us decide when to book Chops and Portofino will be so helpful. Maiden NYC, there is a posting of the Cruise Dailies for the June 2, 2007 sailing. The link is http://www.cruisedailies.com/portal/tabid/445/Default.aspx

Thanks and may you have smooth seas and blue skies!

Could someone please tell me how I print these dailies on an 8.5 X 11 paper? I would really like to print all of these, but can't figure out how to do this. Thanks for any help!

Go to "Thread Tools", then "Printable Verson". That should do it for you.

Its been a good cruise...

Just left Labadee today. Did the zipline - that was pretty cool! Didn't last nearly long enough, but standing on the plaform is enough to make anyone freak out! I was the last to go, so I got to experience everyone else's anticipation as well as my own!

In Labadee, go to Dragon's Breath or the far beach - don't know what i is called, but it is way quiet. Unless you like the zoo!

Won $800 in the casino the first night, $300 the second night, and lost today!!!! Don't think I'm going back.

I got to meet Rosebud1g at the Meet and Mingle. Wish we would've stayed longer. We decided to go down to the Slot Tournament and on the way I realized that I lost my Seapass card. Had to wait in line at Guest Services.... Got to the casino just in time to hear people having a blast! And I wasn't part of it!!!!

So, I'm SO sorry for not posting sooner. I will try to be better.

Best piece of advice - you can order anything on the dinner menu for room service between 7 and 9! Changed tables to a 2-top the second night, but had a BAD case of heartburn (not the food, but the imbibing I suppose) and had to go back to the cabin. NOT NORO!!!!! Better today!

Okay, so it's nearly time for dinner. More tomorrow!

Oh yes, the pool is EMPTY when the boat is in port. Spent 45 minutes at the pool with NO problem with chair hogs!!!!

Hope you have fun on your vaca!!!!!!

Were you playing slots or cards? If slots, what machines did you hit on? Other posts weren't thrilled with the Zipline - is it worth it for the money for 6 kids ages 15-25?

Sounds like you're having a great time! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sitting in my room waiting for DH to get ready for breakfast. I think it is 8:25 am ship's time, but the time on the phone is different than the time on channel 40 (the one with the maps and ship's bow).

Ok, I'll try to answer some questions and then I have a few comments.

First, the casino. I'm playing the five cent slots. I was hitting on Treasures of Troy, which is 80 lines (?!?) and not for the faint of heart. Also hit on Cheese Capers, Fairy Fortunes. We only play the ones with the fun bonus games. :) You hear people the first few days winning all the time.

The cruise compass says that there are penny slots in the casino, but I didn't see any. Oh well.

Pictures of the junior suite to follow. Need hubby to do that.

The zipline isn't worth it for 6 kids. It's quite pricey and the zip itself only lasts 20-30 seconds. It's fun, but not THAT fun! And you are standing around in the hot, hot sun for so long and they didn't provide any sort of hydrating beverage.

Now for my comments....

First, when you book reservations for Chops or Portofinos, make sure that you confirm which dinners will be served each night in the main dining room. I did SO MUCH research looking at everyone else's dailies, that I booked Chops for tonight, which was supposed to be Venetian Feast night, but actually, that was last night!

Second, we decided to eat in our stateroom last night. Ordered tons of food off the dinner menu. That was fine, but they wouldn't send me a bottle of wine from my Wine and Dine package. So I had to go to the dining room and sit in my jeans and flip flops to get a bottle of wine from MY waitress. How embarrassing!!!

So those are my minor complaints.

Will post pics of the room.

More to come later. Staying on the boat today to sun by the pool!
