PTarbay Posted August 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Does the Radiance have a cinema like some of the other ships?Does it show the same movies as in your cabin or are there first run movies? One more question.I was on the Carnival Triumph last year and they charged for the newer movies in your cabin.A pay per view type system.Do they also charge for them on RCCL or are they free.Thank you for any help. Mark_K Posted August 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2004 I don't recall seeing one, but I'm not positive. Personally, I've never been so hard up for something better to do that I've ever watched a movie (either cinema or on TV) on any cruise I've ever been on. Magicat Posted August 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Yes Radiance does have a movie cinema. We however never went nor did we watch movies in our room as there was just too much fun stuff to do!
travelgal Posted August 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Radiance has a very nice stadium 'seat type' theatre. We went to the theatre on one of our seas days. No popcorn
PTarbay Posted August 23, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Thank you for your answers.I don't watch movies because I am hard up for something better to do.I find a lot to do on a cruise but sometimes it is just relaxing to wind down and watch a good movie. Some cruises I watch them and some I don't.It is nice to have that option. Sea Island Lady Posted August 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2004 For those of us that have 5 sea days on the way to Hawaii, that theater may come in handy during inclement weather. I guess we will have to pack our own bag of popcorn! :D Can anyone answer the question about the movies?
Rare Radio Posted August 23, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2004 The ship will show recently released films....never first run films. You will most likely be viewing a films that were in the theaters a few months ago..... I agree that you don't have to be hard up to watch a movie on a ship....Cruise lines try to have something foe everyone at different times of the day, Just imagine if everyone went to the pool...or the casino, or to the bar....all at the same time. Radio ;) ;)
emilygrace Posted August 23, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2004 A tip about the cinema....get there early!!!! It's very small and so the rows are very steeply pitched and everyone wants the back ones. We went and the only seats were in the front. We tried to watch, but only lasted about 5 minutes....TOOOOO close to the screen. The movies there are fairly recent, the movies on TV in the cabin are older, and yes, there are pay per view movies in your cabin also.
fajitapita Posted August 23, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 23, 2004 I actually had a hard time finding the Cinema on the Serenade a couple of weeks ago. Finally found it the night before we got off the ship! It was right near the Pit Stop Bar close to the casino, and I must have walked by it a few times during the week, just never caught my eye. It was always listed in the Compass, but I could never find it on the ship map models they have posted on each floor. Guess I could have asked someone... but I was never planning on using it, just curious to see where it was.
