2007 Ironman competition 10/13 Big Island Traffic!

Aloha!

While viewing other post, it occurred to me that many CCers sailing to the Big Island around Oct 13, the date of the Ironman Competetion, may want to consider the following:

 

The competetion starts from the dock at Kailua-Kona, where you tender from your ship!

 

Traveling along the roads on the Kona side of the island will be a nightmare. It makes the 405 in LA look likt the German Autobahm. :(

 

Rental cars may be hard to find.
