jazncruiser Posted September 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2007 We are going to be in Tortola soon :) but from 3 pm until 7pm. What to do? Also we will be in St Maarten from 11 am until 7pm. Any cat/snorkeling we could do there for 1/2 day and what time do the shops close? We will be there on a Saturday and want to get some shopping done here. Any sugestions would be helpful Thanks, Patti
WeLoveCruising Posted September 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2007 Patti, You should post this is the Ports of Call section - there should be some great ideas there.
jazncruiser Posted September 30, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted September 30, 2007 I wanted to find out from HAL cruisers what they have done in the past, ship's excursions or private. If no one answers, so be it:D
sail7seas Posted September 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2007 Is this Noordam? I hope you get some responses here but I agree with "WeLove" that your chances are better at the Ports of Call.
Susie51 Posted September 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2007 I'll be in Grand Turk in Nov. on Zuiderdam. Port of Calls has great information and it helped me with shore excursion activities, shopping, ect.
JimVrhovac Posted October 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2007 America's cup sailing yachts are used in the Regatta and it is well worth the cost. Have done it twice and would do it again... Ruth & Jim

CruiseLiz Posted October 1, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 1, 2007 We did the Virgin Gorda Baths excursion that goes from Tortola by ferry to Virgin Gorda - it was awesome. So great in fact, we had to go back to the Baths to spend more time this year. Have fun!!
mamaofami Posted October 1, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 1, 2007 The baths are great. We haven't been in many years, but did go when we spent 10 days on Virgin Gorda. We like to spend the day at the beaches, so in Tortolla we go to Cane's Bay Beach. We haven't found a beach we love in St. Martin yet and might try Orient Beach this year. Mny years ago we stayed at the Grand Case Beach Club and loved their beach. There are lots of good tours in St. Martin that take you over to Marigot on the French side. I agree you should read the ports of call boards and also go to google and put in St. Martin and read up about the Island. It's an interesting island because it's half Dutch and half French. the French side has some wonderful restaurants and the shopping is on the Dutch side.
