Casey2 Posted October 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2007 I just booked the 7 day Med. cruise , roundtrip from Barcelona on the Voyager of the Seas. I just started reading some reviews and going through the threads. Are the diner seatings later for European cruiseds than Carribean Cruises. I thought I saw somewhere that late seating is 9:15. Is this true? If so, what time is early seating?

Med is very tour intensive and you have long days. We would get back, hit hot tub, have drink or two, dress for dinner, and hit champagne bar for pre-dinner coctails. First day is long one with flight over. Hope you are arriving day before to get your bearings. enjoy:cool:

Rala Posted October 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2007 My TA just called me. She got this info from RCCL today concerning our Nov. Med. cruise. Early...6:15, Late...8:30. (only 2 seatings) Schplinky's website Compass from his Sept. Med cruise lists two early...6:00 and 6:30 and two late...8:30 and 9:00. Albert Ross above has four different times posted. I don't think there is any set "rule" or maybe it is just the "ask three RCCL people, get three different answers" syndrome???? At least you know you are going to eat sometime. right???!!! You and Albert may both be right as dining times could vary from cruise to cruise/ship to ship. My TA had clients on Voyager last summer and there were 4 dinner times. truffles2 Posted October 18, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Times may also depend on the ship. Our Med cruise on Brilliance had two early seatings and the earliest was at 5:30.....toooo early!

jd10367 Posted October 18, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 18, 2007 We were just on this cruise in late Sept. The dinner times are 6:30 and 9:30. The ship caters more to the late dinner seating people. One night there was only 1 show and it was right in the middle of our dinner time. You could get ice tickets between 6:00-6:45 again right when we were getting ready for dinner. The ports of call are LONG days, we would get back from port at 5:30ish and had to be ready for dinner by 6:30. On the nights they had late shows they were very late 10ish. We don't like to eat that late, but we got to as many things we wanted to see as possible. This cruise didn't seem to have as much entertainment as they had on the other cruises we've been on. I didn't see the quest played anywhere and there wasn't a scavenger hunt. The casino does open rather quickly after you leave port, within 1/2 an hour. We had a really good time on this cruise. You do feel the ship being crowded on the 1 short port day and on the sea day. After all there is 3000 people on board. Have a great cruise. Casey2 Posted October 18, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Thanks for all your replys. We normally take late seating which is 8:30. We get back from an excursion, shower and rest up a bit before dinner. I don't think I would want to wait until 9:30 to first start eating though. SInce the days are so hectic, I imagine we wouldn't be staying up too late and to first finish dinner at 10:30-11:00 might be a little late for us. I will have to give this some more thought. Ah! the choices we have to make in life!
