Toyz711 Posted October 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2007 how old are you? how many in you group? what is your budget? sorry, we would love to help you...but it's really better if you do your own research and then ask questions after you get a little idea of what you want. do you have the budget for the expensive stuff like flightseeing over the glaicers? or glacier landings? do you like wildlife...bears have limited viewing times and areas....if bear sighting are what you are looking for, you really need to plan. best thing is to read a few pages of this thread...i know it takes time..but lots of opinions already posted. the other things, all the ports have websites, go on them and have them send you information. http://www.traveljuneau.com/ http://www.fs.fed.us/r10/tongass/districts/mendenhall/ http://www.visit-ketchikan.com/ http://www.skagway.com/ these are not all of them, just the ones i have links for. as much as i love planning for trips, i find what i like may not be what you would like...better to do your own research:D
Budget Queen Posted October 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2007 You first need to do your homework. Look over a shore excursion list and narrow down your interests. There are hundreds of excellent tours to recommend. List perhaps your top choices, and you will then get specific information.
MercedMike Posted October 19, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2007 The excursions I like might be totally boring to you, and the ones you like might kill me!! The thing to do is to read the shore excursion booklet VERY carefully. Exactly what they list is exactly what you will do. If you are still unsure go to the shore excursion talk the first day. All of the excursions have satisfied thousands of passengers so they are good of their kind. You just have to decide which are right for YOU. Check out our various Alaska cruises on the page in my sig below and you will see pictures from lots of different excursions, some from the ship and some independent. Have a GREAT cruise! qiangf2 Posted October 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2007 Help us help you. What are your ports of call? What are your interests? same here! When you ask a broad based question, it is hard for anyone to come up with meaningful answers. Just narrow down your options first. People on this board are very friendly and helpful.
