Ok I am glad you said it cause I was thinking it but didn't want to offend you...lol. ;)

I love the black marble sinks and walls but then they have that peach bathtub. Someone needs to talk to that decorator. ;) :D

The Ecstasy's have a mottlely brown and goldish marble in the tub/potty room...not that THAT goes real well with pink either. :D

I don't mean to be negative, but there is nothing luxurious-looking about the decor in that suite. Honestly, it looks cheap and institutional to me.

Most of it, to me, looks like a PUBLIC area of the ship.... great place to have DRINKS (if they provided a bartender!!!).

Nonetheless - I will be, at least at this point, giving it a try on 6/30/08.

We also have never had any problem with noise from below. The only noise problems come from above, and that has been limited to a few early morning joggers (track DIRECTLY overhead) and also when they are spreading out all the lounge chairs above (again, in the morning)!

Sorry in advance for the brief hijack, but.....Tom-n-Cheryl, don't you have pix somewhere of the Cat 11 wrap cabins on Spirit class? I've done a search but can't locate them. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!!!

Sure - just click my SMUGMUG link (below) and select CRUISES - then click on the albums which are titled: PRIDE, MIRACLE, and LEGEND... several scattered about there!

Hey, at least they did not convert the space to CAMP CARNIVAL!!!

That was a pleasant surprise, to hear they didn't convert the space. There's hope for me yet for booking one of those suites these days!

Thanks for sharing the pics, they really did do a lot with the suites. Not as luxurious as some other lines, but a vast improvement over what they had!

Yours will look something like this photo, depending on what ship you're on:

After I posted I realized that they were not talking about the regular penthouse suites...... So Thank You for the pictures of the cat 12, this is what we have booked for June 08. :p If anyone out there has pictures of the Inspiration Cat 12 cabins I would love to see them. :D

Are they still charging something like $4,000 for a four night trip or has the price increased with the Refurb??

It ranges from $300-$500 per night, per person... so it is definitely a SPLURGE kind of way to go. Oddly, most of the times we have sailed in one, I have managed to win enough in the casino to cover it!!!

Well, I see they got rid of that noisy chandelier that was over the dining room table. On the Sensation, it was taped together so it wouldn't clink as much.

My TA had one of these suites and we had a party up there for about 100 people. The only drawback he could see was it was very hot due to all the windows. Even with the curtains pulled it was still hot. He also didn't like the very tiny balcony that had a great view of the lifeboat.

At least it looks a little more modern than it used to, brighter furniture too.

I agree that nothing about the suite looks very comfortable or attractive. It looks more like a showroom at my local IKEA store. I also agree it looks more like a public area then a private suite. It needs to be softened up. Doesn't seem luxurious at all and I think I would rather have a normal Category 11 or 12.

Thanks for clearing up my confusion!!!

(now could you do that with the REST of my life!! :D )

I am amazed that folks don't hear Camp Carnival. WOW...now that must be some industrial sound proofing!!!!

I also wanted to say that Carnival is nice enough to extend these PHs to the parents of staff from time to time. ACD Noonan's parents came for a 4 day cruise (on the Fantasy) from New York and Carnival put them in the PH. A very nice touch!!!

Thanks for posting the new pictures, Tom. It's nice to be able to make the visual comparision with what you showed me earlier.

Have a great weekend!!

(p.s. I'm glad our Sensation sailing was the week it was, and not a week later. That could have been rough)

Cheryl and I were thinking that same thing over the last few days. I'll bet they put the BARF (yes, I know - MOTION SICKNESS is the more appropriate term...:o ) bags to good use the last few days

Don, all that you have to do now is book the Inspiration for 6/30/08, and you can then see the updated version in person too!!!

We had a great time! I think you will too! Conrad is the steward and he is wonderful!!!!

What cabin were you in? We have U88 reserved, will our cabin look like the pictures? We have 4 booked in our cabin so I hope the couch makes into some kind of bed...........

Thanks....

I had no idea that they had this category of cabin on any Carnival ship. The suites and associated prices on Carnival have always confused me on a straight up comparison to other lines. I'd love to see larger suites on Carnival's ships. Don't see it happening though, from the cruises I've researched, they seem to always have suites left (unlike other lines).

Thanks for the pictures. The Cheap Industrial Modernist style is a new on to me :D The sleeping area, TVs and Windows are appealing...but the rest has to go :D
