i believe i remember the breakfast being the same but the lunch changes daily.

I believe the same as mgmigs. Remember, the breakfast menu has quite a few options, so you certainly wouldn't have to repeat yourself. And it's quite pleasant to have the waitstaff bustling up so promptly with your juice and coffee, and a tray of pastries.

I always found lunch very good. Not only is it more relaxing to sit and order rather than pushing through the crowds in the Windjammer, but with smaller portions it's not quite so easy to overeat. (Although it's certainly possible if that's your intention - the waiters will cheerfully bring you whatever you ask for.)

On our last cruise, there were two alternating lunch menus in the DR with a daily special that was different each day.

I thought I had a link to someone's photo of one of the lunch menus but I can't find it at the moment.

We weren't thrilled with breakfast in the DR (took a long time and wasn't any better than the WJ) but loved lunch there. In addition to the menu choices (Cobb salad, steak sandwich, fish & chips are some of the things I remember) there was a made-to-order pasta board.

Cheers,

I have the menus too. They're on my webshots album, just follow the link below for the pictures. :)

Thanks for posting the link to the menus. It's interesting that your lunch menu was different from BOTH of the ones we had (though some of the items were the same).

san4u2- I hope you are right. We love the DR for lunch and would love it even more if the menu changed each day. What itinerary were you on?

Cheers,

Thanks so much for all the great info on RCCL's breakfast and lunch menus. Of course, as always on a cruise, it looks like the problem will be not eating too much rather than not having enough choices :)

On Mariner the breakfast menu never changed. The lunch menu was the same daily with the exception of the special of the day and the change in the pasta. The sauce was the same, but the type of pasta changed.

If you are a pasta lover, go to the dining room for lunch. They have red sauce and white sauce and you can add ham, onions, garlic, shrimp, bacon and a few other things I can't remember. It is SSssssssssssoooooooooooooooo good. I am one who loves the garlic/butter sauce with onions and garlic---to die for.

Thank God that the restaurant isn't open every day. I would have gained more than the 4 lbs I gained.

Enjoy.
