If you're on the QM2 you can locate music on your interactive TV. There are quite a few choices (of course not the latest hits ) - more along the classical lines. If you prefer an alarm to wake-up calls you'll need to bring along a small clock.

Marc and I used to bring along a small CD clock radio from Radio Shack. We used to look around to find the smallest and lightest. Also once brought a small boombox on board. Now we play MP3s through the lap top with a small pair of speakers.

My Stepfather would have agreed with you. He had an entire room of reel to reel tapes and phonoghaph records.

I usually bring an alarm clock with me (as a backup to the phones wake-up service ... ) and sometimes a small boombox in case I'm in the mood to listen to my CDs.

 

Like a few mentioned, there really isn't much choice as far as music in the cabin is concerned. Too bad Cunard won't install DVD players in each cabin, as HAL did in thier recent ship upgrades.
