We were on the oct. 6th sailing. Wondering if things have changed since Quest started. Do they now escort passengers to their rooms? Is there a charge for the T-pool behind spa? Are they giving a Captain's Club gift?

We did the repo from Cape Liberty to Miami in a beautiful, just inserted SS on Deck 8 (lots of closet space without lighting though, no make-up mirror, but yes there were two hair dryers). Bring an extension cord - outlets are in an awkward space under the desk area, and none accessible easily at the night tables - this may not be the case in other cabins). All-in-all a very nice cabin, possibly better than the SS on M-class. We were most interested in trying a smaller ship (700 pax vs. the 1,800 to 2,000 pax we're accustomed to).

We experienced 45 MPH winds on the eastern fringe of Noel overnight, and could really feel the motion, but I would say that once under 20 to 25 MPH you can get around easily, unless you require a wheelchair or scooter - then this is problematic, as the only autodoors are in the Windows cafe toward the aft deck. The stateroom and other decks mid-ships and their access to elevators are fine, it's the pool area to cafe, and access to the Deck 5 promenade that's challenging, because they have high thresholds with heavy doors, and steep, movable ramps. It would take a drydock mod to fix this. That said, it's much easier circumnavigating the smaller ship.

The crew is outstanding! All very approachable and helpful. Captain Carl Smith from the IOM is quite funny and is most interested in hearing what you have to say, as are CD Becky ("TTFN") and Hotel Manager Niyazi. The assistant waiters at all stations we encountered are most friendly and helpful.

Food is fine, DW loves the lobster bisque and ice creams. Creamed soups were disappointing, but the chilled soups were fine. We dined in both Prime C and Aqualina (on Az). The service was fine, the food was fine. We rate the M-class specialty restaurants higher. The main dining room was mostly good, but a bit uneven with the timing of meals. The portion of the dining room closest to the entrance was a bit less noisy. We liked the open seating, hardly waiting very long, and opting to sit at a table for two or joining others depending on how we felt at the time - always accommodated by the jovial maitre'D. Windows cafe and the evening Breeza "bistro buffet" were always very good - yes, the waffles are still wonderful. Caution - a very slippery floor in Windows - hopefully this will be addressed soon. The Pool grill had good burgers and hot dogs, and nachos. The soft serve ice cream was not particularly to our liking. Best coffee was in the Windows cafe from the machine - room service, main dining room and specialty restaurants was awful in DW's opinion - I drink decaf T, so don't ask me.

The cabaret show group (3 "productions") was very good, the other entertainers, good to fair. Visibility from the seating was better than in two-tier theaters, in our opinion.

Only a couple of shops, with not much really exciting in them. Cova Cafe a nice palce to sit and listen to piano or harp.

"Azcursions" team and tendering staff were very good.

Cabin service was consistently good, but the butlering is not as complete as on M-class - this may partly be due to the antiquated phone system which is changing out soon.

The public rooms are quite nice - lots of dark woods, and tasteful artwork.

The pool and whirlpools are quite small, but everyone seemed to enjoy the deck chairs, and the pool attendants were very helpful. Bands and other entertainers were genreally good. I only used the fitness center once, and the treadmill was quite nice - everything else looked pretty good to me.

The guest laundry should be up and running now, we used the ship's laundry, with coupons and got a two sacks of clothes for $20 each.

Internet service was generally quite good (better than Millie in the Med last year), and about the same price, with packages available for lower by the minute rates). Wasted money trying to print boarding passes outside of the Keys though - the satellite was down and service verrrrrry slow - couldn't get to the printout page on DL's web site. Internet Mgr was very helpful.

Flat-panel TV was good, well visible (except on brightest days, so had to close drapes partially - not much in the way of programming though.

We would sail Journey again.

Enjoy!!
