Waitlist - Not always upheld

I have been on a waitlist for a Jr. Suite on the Explorer. I check many times throughout the day to see if anything opened up. Well, when I got home from work today I checked and one was available. I put a hold on it and immediately called by TA. He put me on 3 way calling with a rep. from RCL to confirm. What I want to know is, why when that cabin opened up RCL did not check their waitlist? Good for me, I am sure there were people with guarantees, and on waitlist longer then me.

I would just consider yourself lucky enough to find it. Maybe you were actually ahead of them on the list. ;)

Maria112- I was put on a wait list as well for a suite. I check every day also... Finally, I saw online a suite in the category I was looking for became available BUT RCCL did not call me either. I found it myself. Maybe there is no wait list.:rolleyes:

Agreed, I don't think they have the technology or personnel to really make the wait-lists work.

I was told that I couldn't be put on a general waitlist--that I had to waitlist a specific cabin number, and if that one opened up, I would get it. They simply wouldn't give me the next available! I thought it was a stupid way of doing things, but, whatever!
