Jewel Question

Partner and I have been looking at the Jewel 10/28 repositioning BOS/MIA 10 night. Online E1 has 3 available / E2 has 1 available and E3 is not for sale.

Question: Is it possible that this repositioning cruise is that sold out this far in advance or does RCCI hold back? We are on the Majesty in January and I wanted to do a NEXTCRUISE for Oct so that we could get the OBC, but I wonder if it will be available at all in February!

Groups often hold space on these sailings and that would make sense with what you are seeing. I book groups for a living and release my unsold space 60-120 prior to sailing.

We booked 14 months in advance for the 2006 Boston to FLL repo on the Jewel. Watched the categories sell out and prices go up, up, up. By final payment time our category cabin was almost twice as much as what we paid. After final payment there were more cabins available. This is a popular repo cruise.

No offense to you as a TA(and others who will probably give me grief for saying),but I dont think its fair you can hold blocks of cabins for so long...

I can see holding them for a while when you first get them, but not until 60-120 days out,if you already have them........I think it helps makes the costs go up since it appears it is selling out...

Try calling a RCI Cruise advisor directly and being very nice. Obviously there are sometimes cabins available which do not show up on the website that they can place you in.You may have to call back several times. If there is a special cabin you want, they can also waitlist you. And yes, after approx 90 days prior to sailing , when the full fare is due, there are often cancellations, and cabin price reductions or outright sales. Keep calling and advisor and/ or checking the website, and you may be able to get the cabin you want for a fair price. We've been able to get hump cabins and the big balcony stern cabins by working hard (sometimes for stupid prices). :D

No offense taken. I have to pay deposits and RCI recalls unsold space at regular intervals. We do not get to hold it for free.

BTW, I have almost always oversold my blocks. I am incentive specialist and work with groups that know the number of cabins they will need. This is quite different from the large internet agencies that book them and they have to sell them.
