Can I bring wine in my carry-on?

Is there any problem bringing wine through security in my carry-on, or must I box it up and hand it over to the porters at the dock? (Zuiderdam 12/15)

You can definitely bring it in your carryon. In fact, on one of my cruises, I stopped at the liquor store on the way to the port and it was put through the scanner right in the plastic bag from the store!

We brought about 7 bottles on in our carryon without any problems (when first boarding the ship).

As long as you're not coming directly from the airport, 'cause you can't put it in your carryon on the plane...

Really. I hadn't thought about it. You can not carry alcohol on? Has that always been the policy or is it the new "no more that eight ounces of liquid in a plastic bag thing?"

 

(I'll buy a bottle or two in Ft Lauderdale anyway, and not fly with it...but I am just asking.)

It's the TSA "3 ounce containers in a 1 quart bag" thing.

 

Before that went into effect there were some other restrictions imposed by some states - for example we could not fly home to FL from CA with wine in carry-on baggage.
