G-Man Posted September 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2004 Hey all...family going on our annual spring break cruise. Picked the Jewel for our first RCCL cruise. Been on NCL, Disney and Carnival in the past. Got a D1 on Deck 9 just forward of the hump. Looking forward to seeing who else is going and if any other 8-10 year old girls are going (have twin 9 year olds). G-Man
42trvl Posted September 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2004 When is your Spring Break? Many schools are off at different times. NYC and some suburbs have spring break last week of April, when we are thinking about a cruise with our family - 10 year old boy and 12 year old girl. 42trvl Posted September 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Barry, Too bad our kids are a little bit older. Many Long Island and NJ schools are also off that week. Last April (last week) on the Summit we had a good number of kids during that week, but not as many as other times.
G-Man Posted September 18, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted September 18, 2004 we are going on the March 26th cruise. Spring Break and Easter vacation is the same week in Florida this year. Usually, they are seperated. Anybody going? Anybody have any recent experience on the Jewel? Going 8-day eastern. Let me know. Thanks,
Merion_Mom Posted September 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2004 G-man - The Jewel hasn't done any Caribbean cruises yet. She was just launched this spring and has been doing Northern European cruises. When she comes transatlantic in the fall, she'll begin the Caribbean route. So you won't find anyone yet who has done JEWEL in the CARIBBEAN. That having been said, you WILL find WONDERFUL reviews of the ship from cruisers in Europe. Try these: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...highlight=Jewel http://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...highlight=Jewel http://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...highlight=Jewel http://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...highlight=Jewel http://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...highlight=Jewel http://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...highlight=Jewel http://boards.cruisecritic.com/show...highlight=Jewel Carol
G-Man Posted September 19, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Thanks for the info, but I was unable to get to the links you provided. Can you let me know where I can see those reviews.
Merion_Mom Posted September 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Well, I don't have the slightest idea why the links don't work, but you can do the same thing I did: use the Search function. Click on the search button in the blue band at the top of the CC screen. Click on advanced search. In keyword/topic, type in Jewel. In the forum list, highlight just RCI. Then click search. Titles of topics should tell you if it's worth reading. In particular, look for posts by Globaliser and madforcruising. They're GREAT! ;) Carol
madforcruising Posted September 19, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Thanks Carol! BTW did you receive my email and have you been able to get something posted as a link? G-Man: I have photos and a review of the Jewel on my website. You can also read the review on cruisecritic by clicking on the link in my signature. Another great website´with tons of links is the one of cruiseclues. Here are the links to the review and the pics from Globaliser.
