How much do you tip taxi?

I have never been in a taxi before and not sure what's a fare tip for the driver. MIA airport to port of Miami area if that helps. Thanks for any help

You should tip around 15%. Fare to the Port of Miami from the airport should be $24.00.

$3.00-$4.00 should be fine. If he helps you with your heavy bags, add at least another dollar!

We tip cab drivers 15-20%.

Hi Browneyedpete,

When I worked in Manhattan, I never tipped a taxi. When I travel, I start at 8 to 10% and go from there. If he/she are pleasant, know the area, answer questions I may have, etc., then the tip goes up. If they act as if they would rather be in another business, then maybe my no tip will help with their decision.
