Upgrade from Promenade Room

Has this happened to anyone? Just wondering what our chances are? We are sailing on the Mariner in May... It is my dh's first cruise, just wondering how likely it'd be we would get upgraded. We booked through Costco.

Keep your fingers crossed, but don't hold your breath! Really, upgrades are few and far between! It has happened, but just don't expect it!

We really enjoyed our Promenade room on Liberty, see pictures below. I wouldn't have wanted an upgrade. I didn't hear of the Upgrade fairy on our trip, don't know the likelyhood.

Upgrades are rare. The most likely way to get them is booking a guranteed cabin instead of a specific cabin but even then they are not likely and you lose control over choosing the location of your cabin.

We justed returned from the Mariner and it was sold out on our cruise, 3367 passengers. It's very popular and I think it will be sold out until it leaves for the west coast on Jan. 4, 2009.

We were booked in a Promenade room on our Feb AOS sailing. Four or Five days before, our TA called to tell us that we had been upgraded to a balcony. Hopefully the Upgrade Fairy will visit you as well.

I have a promenade on Liberty in August and don't believe I would upgrade for anything less than a balcony and I'm not even sure I would do it then. Love my promenade cabins.

IMHO the only thing that is an upgrade from a Promenade is a full suite.:eek:
