OPC on Princess?

I'm curious what Princess gives as OPC (Ocean Players Club) gifts? Typically on another OPC line I've received a bottle of wine, stateroom decorations, fruit & cheese basket, keychain, wine opener etc... curious if the OPC gifts on Princess are similar?

Well first of all, Princess doesn't call their frequent cruiser club OPC. Secondly, I think you would have to call Princess to see at what level of the Captain's Circle you would be. Third, the Princess website has the benefits of being in the Captain's Circle.

First, second and third, that is not the question...they are asking about frequent casino users.

So far, I have been given only one set of gifts from the ocean players club. That was on the Sea Princess. The final night onboard, I was told by the casino manager (Florin-great guy, remembered my name from the first time I hit a jackpot on a machine) that they had a little gift for me. They met me at the casino cage and presented me with a huge players club bag full of hats, sun visors, shirts of all kinds, cards, pens.............lots of goodies. From what they said, they were only giving these out to a few people onboard that spent a lot of time and money in the casino. I figured since I was winning and not loosing, I wouldn't see anything.

Other than that back in December 2006, nothing since on any ship. No perks whatsoever.

(BTW-I used the bag in Egypt and when a vendor saw it, he traded me a bunch of T-shirts for it. And the bag was large but very thin so it really wouldn't have lasted too long. Great trade for me. :))

Well then first, second, and third, Princess doesn't have a frequent casino users club. Fourth, they may still qualify for some of the frequent cruiser benefits since Carnival and Princess have the same owners now. However, I don't believe that the casino has as many visitors on Princess as it may on Carnival.

You are incorrect in this. Princess does have the Ocean Players Club onboard their ships now. But it hasn't been there all that long.

Thanks for the info on your experinece, Toto! And yes, I received some email thing about that credit - but I didn't pay much attention to it since it's not in a good time frame for me to travel. In fact, I think the next big poker tourney will be on Princess. They'll also give you $50 for each additional cabin an OPC member 'books'. I'm not sure how that works exactly, but it's one of the offers.

For anyone else interested - the OPC spans the following lines: Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, The Yachts of Seabourn, P & O Cruise Line, P & O Australia and Ocean Village.

We checked it out, but I didn't think we were interested in the sailings offered either. :( Such a shame to waste that $500 casino credit. :( :(

I also have a question? I received an offer from Princess the other day giving me a $500 casino credit if I booked one of their big cruises with the casino tournaments. Anyone else receive this offer?

I did get an email about the tournaments, but don't recall if there was OBC involved. I was pretty disappointed though, since the cruise I'm booked on won't have one of the special tourneys, but the 3-day sailing just before will. :(

Well that's a shame isn't it?

With Princess tracking casino spending now, I wonder if that credit they offered wasn't linked to my onboard casino play the last couple of years? (It's been quite high) >>>>>>blushing<<<<<<< One of those questions I wanted to find the answer to but had no idea how.

I also received this Toto; but was unable to take advantage of it.

While being excited about the introduction of Ocean Players Club on Princess, I also wondered about tracking our play. Now Princess knows exactly what machine (s) we play, for how long and how much we bet.

No wonder they are willing to forego the 3% fee for being tied to our cruise account.;)

Perhaps the lines are taking cues from vegas... now if only we could get all our drinks free while in the casino!

It happened three weeks ago on The Golden Princess! Every evening while in the casino, Letecia came by where I was playing and said, "I had your usual sent over, Mr. Mike"

Just talk to the casino host while onboard & fill out the form. There's a website with info as well: oceanplayersclub dot com

I have never had to fill out any forms at all for the OPC. But I still get the occasinonal gift and emails with offers/credits targeting the casino. Interesting! Maybe they just know since we sail so often and I spend so much time in there. ;) But to date, I don't remember ever joining anything. Maybe I just fell in because of a 'grandfather clause'? LOL

Interesting... I most definately filled out a form. (Although they do not yet have membership cards or #s available.)

Each time I prepare to cruise, I go to the website and fill out the form with my sail date, ship, booking # & cabin # as well as last sail date, ship & booking # so they know I'm coming. :) This is how they know where to send my in cabin gifts. LOL!

Mike - Ive received free drinks here & there ... but never consistently. I wonder what the trick is? $500/hand bets?

I filled out a membership form as well.

I assure you the trick to free drinks is not $500 bets:D

Any special significance behind your CC name of bhopal21?

Just that my companion of many years was a Burmese cat that I named Bhopal after the country's capital.

He came to me almost one year before the occurrence of the terrible accident that happened there.

My present avatar is Zydeco whom we rescued from Southeastern Greyhound Adoption two years ago.

After seeing this, I went out online to their site, registered to get my number, and input the past cruise information as well as my current booking info. Just got an email today from them as follows:

Thanks for contacting the Ocean Players Club!

We're glad to hear your sailing again! We have placed you on our OPC guest list for your upcoming sailing. Hope you have a great cruise, and the best of luck while spending time in the Casino!

Best Regards,

Ocean Players Club

So, we'll see if any goodies are coming my way. I'll report back after my May sailing. :D
