Legend CD

We're on the Legend 12/5. Anyone know who the cruise director is and how the nightly entertainment is? Thanks;)

When we were on the Legend in April it was Bret Alans. Yuck! Luckily, he had a wonderful staff. Couldn't comment on the shows, we hit the casino! ;)

Last I heard Bret Alans is still on the Legend. We are on the Legend CTN on 10/22. Whats the story w/ Bret Alans? Why all the negativity? I have not heard one positive word.

We had Bret Alans last March and he was without a doubt the worst CD we've had on any cruise line. Carnival needs to dump him.

Hopefully the CD will change when they bring her back to FL soon! Hoping Chris Jefferson is our CD on our sailing 11/27!

I guess part of the problem with Bret Alans is that he's just too full of himself. Very arrogant. Some of the things that come out of his mouth are tactless references to his staff that I find embarassing. BTW, he has a great staff!

Yes he did think rather highly of himself. :rolleyes: Very unwarranted all things considered.

this sounds very discouraging...we always enjoyed our CD's in the past....

 

we are on the first sailing out of fort lauderdale this fall...maybe they will switch CD's after the last NYC cruise (0ct 22).....

It has been my experience, fortunately, that the CD has VERY LITTLE to do with whether I enjoy the cruise or not...

 

I have sailed with Alans before - and we had a great cruise! I can also say that I have sailed with JOHN HEALD, and was not impressed...

 

It appears that our Thanksgiving cruise will be with Alans, and we intend on having a GRAND TIME!

 

 

WOO HOO -- Turkey day is just around the corner!

Just did our first cruise on the legend and we actually enjoyed Bret Alans, yes he was full of himself but still funny, maybe its because we have no one to compare him to. His staff was excellent, and they did say several times he would be leaving the legend soon, but I believe it was to go to the valor, so that might not be for a while. They also said his asst. cd Brent would be taking over the legend. I liked him, good personality. You will enjoy your legend cruise whether you like him or not. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for the info. I wouldn't let a bad CD ruin my cruise, if they have a good staff that helps too. Any cruise is better than no cruise:p
