dennbr9 Posted March 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2008 Posted some info on Damien's for Bora Bora. Pitched my notes on Huahine as we scheduled a full day Motu Picnic with Marc's. Moorea is a small Island- 40 miles around. Nice view from the top of Belvedere Lookout. Best Beach is said to be Temae Beach near the Sofitel Hotel ( Beach at Hotel is usually private). Lunch is said to be good at Le Sunset or Te horo ito. Le Petite Village for shops and boutiques. Woods said to be good for Pearls. Have a great time. Manuia! bdwyer Posted March 21, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2008 or just rent a 1/2 day car rental from Albert and do it on your own (very easy). Bora Bora - hop Le Truck or one of the shuttles at the dock (where the ship tenders dock) and head up to Bloody Mary's or Matira Beach. Huahini...rent a car for 1/2 day
Wendy The Wanderer Posted March 21, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2008 I agree about Moorea--rent a car and drive around. Make sure to drive up to the Belvedere lookout. Stop and do some shopping, look at some pearls, go for a swim...
Spikesgirl Posted March 21, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Greetings. Going to FP on TP and will have half-days after diving and looking for some recommendations of things to do after the dives. Any suggestions? We had a half day left over after our diving on Huahine and took Le Truck into Fare. It's the capital, but only about seven blocks long. It was also a Sunday and nearly everything was closed, but we did have fun wandering around the local supermarket (DH found two bottles of a Creme de Grand Marnier(sp?) that he's been searching for, so he was a happy camper). It wasn't very exciting, but we had a good time. On Moorea, we headed in the opposite direction and went to the Tiki Theater instead. There you stroll past various booth which display arts and crafts from the islands. They were filming a movie the day we were there and that was sort of interesting as well. My mind totally blanks with our schedule for Bora Bora, except I know we had a dive there...hmmm. You know what they say about the second thing that goes...no matter what you do, it'll be beautiful. Cheers! Charlie
Standfan Posted March 23, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 23, 2008 We just returned from 10 days on the Tahitian Princess and found Damien's lagoon tour-which included, for us, THE BEST snorkeling opportunity at the Coral Garden on this island-a worthwhile and fun excursion. That is not to say that the other islands' excursions-Bruno's, Marc's, Patrick's-were any less enjoyable. Each one had its own BEST feature. The most importnat thing to remember when reading reviews is that everything is so subjective. For us, conditions throughout our tour were ideal-the weather was perfect, excursions met or exceeded our expectations, we were able to tender to Rarotonga, and meeting so many interesting people on the cruise only enhanced our vacation. I hope others that have the opportunity to go on this cruise have as good of an experience.
