Toto2Kansas Posted March 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2008 I am stuck on which itinerary for a 10 night cruise. Cariibbean with Hal or Tahiti with Princess. Any thoughts? Thanks. Well, the Eastern Caribbean Cruises will be around forever, Tahiti with Princess ends this December when they pull out of Tahiti. My choice, definitely Tahiti while you still can. ;) (Been to Tahiti 5X now and would go back again tomorrow if I could)
jane02 Posted April 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2008 I agree with the above post. Tahiti was the best cruise I have been on. I would also go back there in a flash if I could.;)

LCW Posted April 14, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2008 I'd say Tahiti. You can do the Carribbean anytime. That being said, it does depend on what you want to do, and why you're cruising. If you are young and want to party and drink and shop a bunch of stores, then the E. Carribb would be better. If you are interested in an exotic culture, more remote locations and less commericalization, do Tahiti. Is this a special occassion? Are you going with husband/boyfriend or girlfriend/family? Do you want the most amazing sunsets you will ever see in your life - do Tahiti. Better diving - Tahiti. Nightlife - E Carribbean. Casinos - E. Carribbean. Pearl Shopping - Tahiti (Get loose pearls). Relaxation - Tahiti. Excitement - Carribbean. If you do Tahiti - splurge and stay one night on either end in an over water bungalow. It was fantastic! A word of warning - Tahiti is not Hawaii. No high-rise hotels here. It is also very $$$, since they ship everything in. Resorts are luxurious, but the towns are quaint - not metropolitan. Do not expect everyone to speak English - Tahitian or French is prevalent. Shops will usually speak English. Kids may be bored in Tahiti, unless really into water sports or beach. If you want to know more about Tahiti, let me know. For the E Carribb you can get plenty of advice on these boards.
cricketts Posted April 19, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 19, 2008 We were on the Tahitian Princess in January. The 10 night itinerary is fabulous. It was our 6th cruise, and I can't imagine another one ever being better. It was a spluge, and we're still happily paying for it!! Don't miss your chance:) Deedee

FOXTROT Posted June 16, 2008 #8 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Cruizin girl we have been to Caribbean a lot. Just back from Tahiti & the South Pacific. Tahiti the whole way, it's like no place on earth. We ended up in Hawaii, which was a let down after the South Pacific.
HollyK Posted June 22, 2008 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2008 Tahiti! As everyone has said - a FABULOUS experience. Absolutely not to be missed. Sad to here Toto that Princess is ending the Tahiti cruise. Would have liked to get back to do the Marquesa route but surely can't do that before Dec. :(
Rare llarsen Posted July 17, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 17, 2008 If you can afford it, Tahiti in a heartbeat! The airfare is a bit high right now. But there isn't a Caribbean island that can beat the French Polynesia itinerary, (IMO). Can't wait to go back again.
