TiggerInNY Posted March 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2008 If you had a choice between a Junior Suite or 2 adjoining Balcony rooms (D1) on the Freedom class ships, which would you pick? We are a family of four - mom, dad, son(13), and son(9). I'm trying to decide which to pick for our April '09 cruise. The pluses for 2 cabins are the bathrooms, for sure. Any help and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks. TiggerInNY:)
dirtgirl Posted March 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2008 I'm a mom of 2 as well, and I would pick the two rooms. Even with 2 rooms, my kids still fought over which TV they would each get. The 2 bathrooms are the main thing for me. I need one all to myself.:o
Dockman123 Posted March 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Besides the extra bathroom another plus is the private time you can have with your spouse after the kids are asleep.
ontheopenseas Posted March 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2008 We had a jr. suite on our last cruise (family of four). Before that cruise was over we knew next cruise it would be two rooms for sure! This time we have adjoining balcony rooms booked! I know we will be appreciating the extra bathroom, space and sanity! TiggerInNY Posted March 25, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted March 25, 2008 You both have good points. Especially the private time with hubby. I'm sure he'll agree with that one. Me, too. Do you know if the Stewart can lock the balcony door so the kids can't open it? That's another issue for me. Thanks.
MilliesMom Posted March 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2008 I would pick the two adjourning rooms ... more room this way AND two full baths!!!! along with a huge balcony space "IF" the divider can be opened.
kathyemma Posted March 25, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Inside/Balcony - Voyager (9376/9381, 9676/9681) Freedom (9396/9401, 9696/9701) Oceanview/Balcony - Voyager (9518/9520, 9218/9220) Freedom, 9518/9520, 9218,9220) I got these from someone on the boards - but you can get a balcony for you and dh connecting to an inside or oceanview for the kids - less $$ and you don't have to worry about the balcony. But they book FAST. Kathy

DEBS@40 Posted March 25, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Def 2 rooms and the cabins specified if available :) We hate having just 1 bathroom for 3 people it takes a bit of getting used to
klfhngr Posted March 25, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2008 I'd take two rooms, one for myself and the other for wife and kids!
Arizona Cruz Chic Posted March 25, 2008 #11 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Another vote for the 2 cabins! Only the cabin attendant can lock/unlock the connecting door. I advise to keep it unlocked for the safety of your boys. Just keep it closed at night and set rules for privacy, I think the age of your boys could respect that. ;) ***
golfer1966 Posted March 25, 2008 #12 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Besides the extra bathroom another plus is the private time you can have with your spouse after the kids are asleep. PT time is crucial and good stress relief....
cb at sea Posted March 25, 2008 #13 Share Posted March 25, 2008 2 rooms! While I LOVE JS's, I wouldn't put my kids in with me--no privacy! And, the extra bathroom is lovely! Even tho you'll be giving up the tub, I'd pick a lowly shower over time with my mate ANY day!
RachelD Posted March 25, 2008 #14 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Inside/Balcony - Voyager (9376/9381, 9676/9681) Freedom (9396/9401, 9696/9701) I got these from someone on the boards - but you can get a balcony for you and dh connecting to an inside or oceanview for the kids - less $$ and you don't have to worry about the balcony. But they book FAST. Kathy This is exactly what we are doing for our upcoming cruise on the Liberty. DH and I have the balcony and our 2 DSs have the interior connecting. We had planned this cruise around these rooms...there are only 2 per ship. We had planned it way in advance....over a year ago!
Sequim88 Posted March 25, 2008 #15 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Dumb thought from a RCI novice but....two cabins on same cruise gets two C&A cruise credits same as JS right? So it's a wash and that's not a consideration? Just wanted to be sure incase we ever run into this.

Nice thought....but only the persons sailing in the balcony (IN or OV) cabin gets the credit, so they each get 1 credit for a 7 night. ***
