Combining OBC

Hi all.

I'm looking at booking an Alaskan cruise on-board the Golden this coming September.

I've got the $200 deposit with OBC (amount depends on category booked of course) from the open booking I made on the Emerald in January, and I've also got a $25 OBC that Princess has offered me in recognition of a post-Emerald letter that I sent to them.

Furthermore, the agency where I am planning to book the Alaskan cruise is currently offering a $50 OBC per cabin for all outside bookings.

My question is: does anyone know if these can be combined or will I only be able to access one of the credits?

Many thanks to all who reply!

Where do you find your OBC balance...I've looked at my Cruise Personalizer, it's not there...we have approximately $250 pp so it's certainly enough to try a few of those Limoncello's that everyone talks about !!!! Thanks in advance for your comments.

When I checked my cruise account on Princess, it only showed the OBC for the stock applied to the sailing. But the $25 PP from my agent is in another column as just future credit. I had read that very often the TA OBC doesn't always show as being applied on the Princess website. Is that true?? I truly appreciate all your kind assistance.

Thanks to all who have replied. I will be sure to post to advise if indeed they were all applied once I have booked.

RetdCruizers - The credits I have pending with Princess via the open booking are showing in My Princess account under Circle Savings Account. I would assume yours would show there as well?

OBC from TAs will not show up on the Princess web site.

In My Princess - Circle Savings account it will show all FCCs and a booking number if they have been applied.

There is CREDIT ID #, DESCRIPTION - Future cruise Deposit, EARNED- Date purchased, EXPIRES- date needs to sail by, STATUS- the booking number if applied or Acitve if still available, AMOUNT- the OBC you get for the cruise it was used for , or it will say $25.00 to $150.00 if not used.

If you booked cruise with Princess all Princess (including CCL stock) OBC will show in the Cruise Personalizer under Balance and Payment (this is not availabe for you to view if you book via a TA).

It sounds like you may end up with a pretty decent size OBC. What happens if you do not use it all? Is it lost or do you get reimbursed somehow for what is remaining?

Unless you have an inordinate amount of credit, you'll use it. Don't forget that your tips automatically come off of that. If you do have too much credit left, take the cash from the casino. You'll pay 3%, but that's 97% of money that you won't lose.

We used this on our Tahiti cruise. We did have an inordinate amount of credit for us. We do not drink, didn't use the spa, and only 2 of our excursions were with Princess. I shopped for months for a great cruise price and my TA provided plenty of OBC. It was nice to get cash from the casino.

Can someone please explain how the cash from the casino works. I have not been in the casinos on my cruises so don't know how this works. My husband does a bit of gambling but it makes me too nervous to watch! Thank you.

You go to the casino cage, you ask for whatever amount you want ($20 minimum I believe), the attendant writes a slip showing they've charged you 3%, you sign it, the attendant gives you the money and the charges go on to your cruise card account. Easy peasy.

To come full circle, I did the Golden booking this morning (I can't believe I will be able to say I've cruised twice in one year - how luxurious) and it appears as though all the credits will be applied. My TA was having some trouble getting Princess to "locate" the goodwill credit, but she has a copy of the letter and will persue it on my behalf.

The good news is, I had misunderstood the credits, and I will be getting $200 total when all is said and done! $50 from the agency, $100 from Princess (FCC) and another $50 from Princess (goodwill).

Very exciting... thanks to everyone for your assistance!! Time to start researching past threads on the Golden...
