After you become platinum just call and they will apply the balcony discount.

newbie here :) what do you mean by how many credits? We are going on a 7 night Eastern Caribbean... Thanks for any help and advice

After your first cruise you will come home and sign up for the Crown and Anchor Society which is the loyalty club for RCCL. For any cruise you will get 1 credit, if you stay in a JS (junior suite) or above you will get an additional credit, if your cruise is 12+nights then you get another credit for 3 max per cruise. When you get to 5 you become Platinum and then you get a balcony discount along with other perks. They increase when you get to Diamond (10 points) and then D+ 25 points.

I was on the RCCL website browsing around as we are going to Alaska in 2009. I ran across information that you would get $200 OBC for a land package. Not sure if you are aware of that, so I thought I would mention it to you so you can check it out.

ahhh ok thanks :) I was wondering HOW on earth does anyone get to the Diamond plus if you take one cruise a year LOL but guess if you take longer cruises you build points :) thanks for the tip!

It can be done. Our first cruise was in April '88. All subsequent cruises until Sept '07 were one cruise credit. The Sept '07 cruise was 15 nights so we got 2 cruise credits and recently made D+. :D
