Rare Lois R Posted April 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2008 Hi, normally I don't ask for cabin advice but figured I would give it a shot:) I just booked an Alaskan cruise on Mercury.:) I am now in cabin 8048.....forward inside Panorama Deck. There are open cabins up on the Penthouse Deck....1090, 1089, 1085...they are inside as well. Do you think those on the Penthouse would have much noise??? I think they are above the Palm Springs area.... Waffle Station, etc. I know going to Alaska its nice to be near the outside but as I cannot afford a balcony it doesn't matter as much. Any advice would be appreciated:)
catmand Posted April 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2008 Lois.....we have been near the 8048 cabin. I'd think you would be OK with either BUT, if one were to get more noise I think it would be the 10 cabins on the Penthouse deck. Those are, after all, under the pool etc. Chuck

usha Posted April 9, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2008 Hi Lois! You're smart to stay put; those penthouse deck cabins are right under the kitchen of the Palm Springs cafe!!! And you KNOW you don't wanna know how early those guys start cooking & rolling carts around up THERE!!!!!!!(27)!!!! Have a great cruise!:D
Sprucetree Posted April 9, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2008 Hi Lois, I'm going on the Mercury to Alaska the week before you. I'll be on the Panorama deck too, but on the other end. Sorry to miss you by one week - it would have been nice to run into you again in Ketchkian and on deck at Hubbard Glacier! That picture at Hubbard Glacier is in my "Alaska Cruise" scrapbook. kathynorth Posted April 10, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2008 Does anyone have any advice regarding cabin 9068 (skydeck) v. 8118 (panorama)? They are both starboard on the Millenium.
Rare Lois R Posted April 13, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted April 13, 2008 Hi Kathy,:) sorry I can't help you with either cabin. I am very happy though....cabin 1242 just opened up and I grabbed it:D...this was the same cabin I just had on Galaxy and LOVED IT! Very quiet, end of the hallway, just around the corner from the steps down to the Lido Deck...great for Alaska to be just a step or 2 from being outside:) Its on the Skydeck so I am really happy! Hi Betty:) ...keep her in good shape for me. You are sailing with a good friend of mine. His name is Donald and he sailed on Galaxy with me. Have a wonderful time!
