Jan_In_Maine Posted April 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2008 Belle you make me laugh ... thanks for starting out my day right!!! I keep gaining and losing the same 5# over and over again ... today I am down 1.8# Next week I am on vacation to the coast of Maine, (we go when the tourists are not here). It will be a week of relaxing and not cooking ... I'm going to try to exercise and make good choices. Have a wonderful day all. Jan
dontstayathome Posted April 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2008 I'm still laughing Belle! Very funny poem this a.m.! Weigh-in was o.k. Lost .2 this week. I was happy with that because I went out with friends on Friday night for dinner and drinks and then I had a family wedding on Saturday. I think I consumed at least a dozen cookies! Hope you all had/have a great weigh-in! Happy Days!
newbiecruiser09 Posted April 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 17, 2008 Wonderful as always Belle! You make my Thursdays! I am down 2 this week (after being up last week) so 18 down, 36 to go. Got into a jeans skirt this am that I could not even get up over my butt last summer! Gives me encouragement! Have a great day all!! winewanderer Posted April 17, 2008 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2008 Good Morning, Congrats losers. I am the same as last week. I've only managed to shed 5 lbs. before my cruise next Friday. My bum knee is not helping me. Went to physical therapist this am. Only allowed walking on flat surfaces, no tension or hills on bike and no weight machine. Ugh! I'll weigh in next Thursday one last time. Best I can do at this point is make good choices and walk a lot on the ship walking track. Good luck everyone this week. sacway Posted April 18, 2008 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2008 Hi Belle - I'm back on the wagon. So thanks for still being here! Let's start today at zero, with a target of ten pounds in ten weeks so I'll be able to wear my cruisewear on our upcoming cruise (if it's turns to be more, then great!). sacway
winewanderer Posted April 18, 2008 #11 Share Posted April 18, 2008 I weighed myself again today. As happened last week. I was 2 lbs. lighter. I don't know why that happens from Thursday to Friday morning except that I do water aerobics on Thursday evenings and last nights class was intense. CopaCruzers Posted April 19, 2008 #12 Share Posted April 19, 2008 I have to go pee, That describes me to a tee! Thanks for the chuckle, Belle :) Down another 2 pounds - 47 pound total since the beginning of the year. This is roughly a third of the weight I need to lose. On last week's weigh-in, I was asked what I am doing to lose weight and my answer is all those things we know we should do to lose weight. I've spent many years reading up on nutrition and healthy lifestyles and know what's correct to do for the most part even if I didn't put my knowledge to good use (by no means do I think of myself as an expert as I have no formal schooling and don't do it for a living, but I know enough to know enough). I took the first step, and then the next, and then the next. Like I said, I'm smart enough to know what I should do, it's just a matter of getting started. I exercise 4-5 days a week for at least 30 minutes I drink lots of water, and don't drink as much soda (I drink diet, so no calories, but still not good when you overdo it like I would). I eat breakfast everyday. I eat better food more often throughout the day. I don't eat break/crackers unless they're whole grain. I try not to eat too many packaged foods (smart ones and other frozen entrees only when I absolutely don't have time for anything else) I watch my sodium intake I incorporate more fruits and veggies into my meals I make sure to get in my carbs, fats and proteins. I don't eat within 3 hrs of going to bed. If I want a piece of chocolate or something else I crave, I have a piece so I don't obsess about it and end up eating more than I should. I drafted DH so we support each other. I tell other people in my life so I'm accountable to more than just me. I keep a food diary (currently using SparkPeople) I have bad days when I'm lazy and don't want to exercise or make a bad food choice, but I move on. I come out here for encouragement :) . dontstayathome Posted April 19, 2008 #13 Share Posted April 19, 2008 CopaCruzers: Wonderful advice for anyone....just not WWing people! Thanks for your input. Even though we all know we should do it, sometimes it's nice to reread it and "re-educate" yourself! Congrats on your weight loss...keep up the great job. CopaCruzers Posted April 20, 2008 #14 Share Posted April 20, 2008 Thanks, dontstayathome. I'm trying to do it right so the weight loss is easier to maintain. I've done crash diets and everything under the sun for a quick fix, but that hasn't worked so I'm going for tried and true :) .
