Andy Posted May 1, 2008 #26 Share Posted May 1, 2008 Hi Andy: I think we should keep this in perspective, it is still cheaper than that available at most land based casinos. Hi Don ! I hear you. I just wished they didnt do it. Believe me, I will get over it. The good news is..... for those that do not want to pay the fee, there are other options (such as bringing cash etc). With that said, I am sure the fee is here to stay, whether we like it or not.
gracecarmo Posted May 1, 2008 #27 Share Posted May 1, 2008 Is the casino run by X, or is it leased out to another company, (like the Art Auction for example)?

gracecarmo Posted May 1, 2008 #29 Share Posted May 1, 2008 thanks, Don. Then, I would assume that the leasing company is getting the percentage? Me: well, I always bring cash, but DH charges. I don't think he will go for the charges....I had better prepare him!
DaveCruises Posted May 2, 2008 #30 Share Posted May 2, 2008 I was on the Galaxy on her 4/7/08 sailing, and I was not charged a fee in the casino (although this thread is making me wonder if I should triple check my list of onboard charges). tuggers Posted May 2, 2008 #31 Share Posted May 2, 2008 Hi Andy! I like your idea. In the perk-less world of X not charging Elite members this fee would be a nice gesture. While I do not like RCCL overall (food, service, quality of drinks, etc) I must admit that I like the diamond perks. Ans so far they only charge if you use your credit card, not if you sign and use your sea pass (as of 4/12, 4/19 b2b).

Thanks for your very nice comments (and to the others who appreciated my thoughts). I hope Celebrity will come up with some enhancements for Captains Club members. I agree with you, that RCI's benefits are far better than Celebrity's. Perhaps one of these days Celebrity will enhance the Captains Club program, and add another level. It is long overdue. We will see what happens.
