NCL's new Freestyle 2.0 entertainment-White Hot Nights party

Recommended Posts

I'm really bored tonight so I put a few clips together from NCL's white hot nights party and made a fake commercial for it. Hope you like.

How much of this kind of thing goes on - on the Pride of America. We are sailing in a couple of weeks! I have been on the Sun prior to any 2.0. My girlfriend and her mom are sailing as well and this will be the first time they cruise. I know that this is a port intensive cruise but hope that some of the "traditional" cruising stuff happens.

Thanks,

Lisa

Nice ...

Question: Will the new theme names be on the Majesty by the cruise leaving on May 31st?

Also, do you know if any other 2.0 updates have/or will be done by May31st on the Majesty?

Tell us a little about the "props" we should bring to really be involved with the new theme night?

Thanks for your postings ...very helpful

James -

FANTASTIC! I so hope the NCL Dream has this onboard in a little over a week! All you need is a good laser show to go along with it and you'll be right up there with an Atlantis charter! I can't wait! I'm bringing my white party outfit (don't worry - it's PG). :D

Was anyone wearing angel wings??

Try to wear something white to this party. Anything from a shirt to a hat. If you don't have anything thats white you can still come!

They do sell T-Shirts for the party and white feather boas. The day of the party all the crew on the ship will wear the white hot nights t-shirt.

On the Jewel White Hot Party, some of the crew had wings.

On our cruise there was a "Hootenanny" sp? Crew wore cowboy boots and hats, checkered shirts, etc. They taught country line dancing.

While I don't have a set of wings yet you can go to iParty up this way and pick up a pair or order them online. On the Atlantis charters there are some folks who bring their own for the white party. It's super cool but a PITA to pack!

Anything white would go! Just make sure it's for all audiences! LOL  ;)

Some ideas for props outside of a feather boa and angel wings could be a sailor's cap, body glitter, white body paint... of course, not showing too much skin as this is a varied audience! :D

Love the video James. Thanks for creating it....I can't wait to be on the Dawn in 3 weeks to experience the party. What night did they have it?

I saw your photos of Bermuda on another post....very nice, but nothing beats Hawaii :D

Good show! I think I smell a sequel. ;)

Maybe the Monte Carlo night. I was actually on the same Dawn cruise as James. I did not attend White Hot Nights. Now that I've seen it I regret it and want to book another cruise. (I always want to book another cruise.) Perhaps if he told us what Monte Carlo night was it would generate some interest.

I thought the White Hot Party was just a good excuse to sell more t-shirts and white boas. Half the people dancing were the staff...it really didnt translate well for the population that was on the Star to Alaska 5/3. Kind of a bust ...JMHO.

The Monte Carlo night was held in the Casino (natch). There were slots tourneys going on and raffles and they had a tower of champagne glasses that passengers took turns filling the top glass with champagne until it trickled all the way down to the bottom tier of the the tower. They had a couple of people dressed in Thai costumes who put on a dance show and all the employees wore black shirts with "Monte Carlo" on it and some wore feather headdresses. It was loud! Especially at the roulette table (where I and DH were playing) becasuse we were right in the middle of all the action. We even ended up being on the video!

Dang! Missed it by ONE week!

Y'see, on the April 27th sailing, in anticipation of the new White Hot Party, my suitcase held my own personal Angel costume (oh, c'mon, doesn't *everyone* have one...?), complete with gossimer white gown, wings and halo. (I'm sure TSA was amused while inspecting the contents of my luggage). I'd even convinced my Beloved to attend in his stylish white NCL waffle weave bathrobe, complimented by white BVDS and tee-shirt (in case a breeze kicked up).

Funny how Fate can sometimes intervene to save us from ourselves...

I really liked the monte carlo night. They had great music, free drinks, dancing, raffles and vegas type show girls. The Casino on the Dawn was packed and everyone was enjoying themselves! I think the more fun you are having you tend to win more!

Do you think there was something in particular about the population of your cruise?

This is something my son is really interested in.

I like that the staff was involved so that if there are only a few, they don't feel out of place. On our honeymoon, they had a 50's night. My husband and I looked good, given that we hadn't brought anything special for the night. We were the ONLY ones on the ship dressed. Everyone kept telling us we looked great, but we sure felt pretty foolish. He'll never dress for a theme again.
