Jakie710 Posted May 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2008 I will be n the Liberty when the Olympics start. Does anyone know if they will have anything special going on to celebrate them? Jakie
cb at sea Posted May 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2008 They may show them on TV, but I doubt they will do anything "special"!

Jakie710 Posted May 29, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted May 29, 2008 Nothing, really -- but after thinking about it. What if everyone onboard dressed in the color of their countries flag and we had a parade of nations? It would be neat to see how many countries are represented on the ship. And/or have a torch relay starting at one end of the ship and ending on the bridge with the captain. just a thought -- I'm excited about the games! Grandiva Posted May 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2008 You may not even be able to see any of the olympics on tv. I wasn't able to see Big Brown win the derby when I was on the Mariner. Not even in any of the lounges.
kel3120 Posted May 30, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 30, 2008 You may not even be able to see any of the olympics on tv. I wasn't able to see Big Brown win the derby when I was on the Mariner. Not even in any of the lounges. We were on that sailing too! My husband was pretty bummed about that. The only sports we watched was soccer while hanging out at the sports bar (which was usually pretty empty). One evening there was a playoff NBA game and the bar was packed so we couldn't even get a seat! So I also would not count on the Olympics being on. Hopefully they will find a way to get it though.
