I was re-reading the princess news on this subject and it sounds like they are going to move the casino to the Promenade deck and those suites will be on the Plaza deck. Boy they are changing things all around on that ship. We will see in oct.

Hmmm - I can't imagine putting out the money for a suite and not getting a balcony.

I'm with you on that one. I wonder what the price will be like to have a suite with just an oceanview. I have loved the suites that we've had but have to say that I would rather have a mini with a balcony than a suite with just a window.

Yep, I think the pricing will be interesting, but I just can't imagine wanting a suite w/o a balcony. Hmmmm, an OV suite with perks or mini w/o perks?? It's kind of like those 4 mini's w/o balconies on the Island/Coral. Does anyone actually book them or are they upgraded to them????

If these are indeed full suites as they say they will be, I am sure they will come with all the full suite perks.

Maybe Princess has found there are some out there that don't mind not having a balcony, but they just want the extra space?

I know that it would not interest us in the least to book a full suite without a balcony.

Maybe a less expensive version of full suites on Princess, minus that great balcony that full suites come with? Guess we will have to wait and see, this could be very interesting.

I've never stayed in a suite, and doubt that I ever would.

Lack of a balcony wouldn't phase me a bit - I rarely book balcony cabins, and don't agree that once you have had a balcony, you can't go back.

I have, and I did. I've enjoyed balconies, I just don't think they are a necessity.

For the right price, I'd love to have suite, even w/o the balcony. Of course it depends on the itinerary. For a Baltic or transatlantic itinerary in September, I don't need a balcony. Then again, I'm doing just that on the Crown this September and yes, we have a balcony. :)

These new suites are listed on the Princess website on the Star October 24th sailing Sydney to LA. They are listed as WS on Plaza and are listed at $6,833 and the next lowest suite is $8,183. Quite a big difference in price.

I assume that is oct. 24 of 2009? I will be on the Star this coming oct. 21-31 and doing a mex. riviera cruise.

Hi Sue, Michael, and Murphy

Unless the SSA gives me a mega boost in my monthly check it really wont make any difference to me if there are balconies or not.

I do wonder if they move the casino -- will it be smaller, bigger, the same?

Maybe better odds ?? :)

That was what James Deering said they would be when he came to the CC meet 'n' greet -- family suites and probably attractive to people with young children. I'm sure the extra space for little ones would be helpful and not worrying about them on a balcony more relaxing.
