maria1122 Posted June 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Today I booked a last minute cruise, I was able to get a Jr.Suite Center hump and a $600 OBC from my TA. Usually the center hump is booked way in advance. Someone must have cancelled . Lucky me.

pepsicruiser Posted June 10, 2008 #17 Share Posted June 10, 2008 If you check RCCL website it's a $2990pp I think so thats a lot. But I guess because its a summer cruise its typical. I went on same cruise but in Sept 2006 and was in a Grand Suite for $1200pp for 9 days a big difference yikes.
brwneyez424 Posted June 10, 2008 #18 Share Posted June 10, 2008 Well I went onto one of the sites I use to compare cruise prices to check on this sailing... and all the quotes I got back were giving between 400 and 600 in OBC for this.
veryhotred Posted June 10, 2008 #19 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I would still like to know what cruise this is, how long, etc and how they got the OBC???
pepsicruiser Posted June 10, 2008 #20 Share Posted June 10, 2008 I would still like to know what cruise this is, how long, etc and how they got the OBC??? One of her first quotes was "the explorer on July 17th". It's a 9 night cruise from Bayonne. There are TAs that base there OBC $ on the total cost of the cruise and since this is a costly trip so goes the OBC. Or possibly the TA has done much business with this client before so upped the OBC.

ewheelock Posted June 11, 2008 #24 Share Posted June 11, 2008 I think that ta's are allowed by RCI to give a percentage of the cruise back as obc in increments of $20.00 buy that does not include the non-refundable portion of the cruise. If I am wrong it is because that is what my ta told me! Are there any ta's out there that can let me know it that is true?
