In Juneau with 2 other ships... will the tram be busy?

I just checked one of the ship calendars and I see we are docked in Juneau with a couple other large ships. I would like to take the tram in the afternoon but I have heard of lines to get down... I think I read that someone waited an hour? Do I have to be on the ship 30 min or 1 hr before actually departing?

The tram lines move extremely fast, only a 5 min. ride in the tram. You need to be back on board 30 minutes prior to departure. And - 2 other ships is a VERY light day in Juneau. Try getting around downtown, when there are 6-7. :)

I was gonna say the exact same thing. 3 ships in Juneau is an amazingly light tourist day during cruise season.

Thanks a ton for the info! I am glad to hear that 3 ships isn't too heavy of a load for Juneau. I guess we lucked out b/c I think we are the only ship in Ketchikan and I think only one other ship with us part of the time in Skagway.

Leaving today at 3 pm!

Ah, thanks for that cool link. Darn - there will be 5 ships the day we are in Juneau!

But, really only 4 at one time since the Norwegian Sun leaves at 1:15 PM, then the Star Princess arrives and docks in their place at the AJ dock at 1:30 PM.:)
