How is the work on Sky coming?

I agree the hull art is pretty.. I was just curious if it had changed for visual purpose. I also agree I would much rather them spend the money on the inside...6 More days!! Anyone going live from the ship Monday?

I was aboard the Sky last evening for a preview party. Overall, I think this will be a great ship for the 3/4 Bahamas market.

 

Here are some impressions:

 

-- The cruise director is Matt Baker.

-- There is still a lot of POA decor. The Outrigger Lounge appears unmodified in its entirety. Carpeting and furnishings in most all public areas remains the same.

-- Casino: Appears to be 4 blackjack tables, one craps table, one roulette table, no electronic roulette, 3 pool-area blackjack tables.

 

Can't really think of anything else right now. This will be a fun cruise for just about anyone. If you have specific questions just ask.

For us the 3-4 nights just don't make it economically feasible - with flight cost from Canada we try to do at least 10 days - but I can see where the 3-4 nights will appeal to many. I certainly like the looks of the ship - so one never knows. Again thanks for sharing.

Wow! Is that a laser light show? Are those WII stations? Did you get to tour any of the Owner suites? If so,have they changed, flat screens? coffee machines?????

I seriously don't get why this bothers anyone. It is just hull art, you don't look at it once you are onboard, only at embarkation and debarkation. And even then, it is just flowers. There are LOTS of flowers in the Caribbean. I'm sure they only had so much to spend on the rehab and they decided to spend most of it on the inside of the Sky instead of on the hull art. Sounds good to me!

 

Because it doesnt make sense to keep that hull art thats why. And you do look at it quite a bit obviously not when you are onboard we are not idoits on here.

 

They hardly change anything on the inside of the ship, most everything remained the same from what I saw last night.

Blackjack tables are moved (or added) to the area near the pool. People can play 21 in swimsuits. Saw them every couple days or so on our 10 day Pearl cruise last year. Great idea.

Looks like the underbedding was changed out for 2.0.

Good Question. The buffet area remains physically the same. It appears they have tried to implement "action stations" at various points in the line. Overall it does not resemble buffet areas of Jewel class ships.

Furniture on balconies looks to be the same. Pool area has blue nylon, screen-type material covering the lounge frames. There was an area where we saw the old chairs with the PVC straps. Not sure what they will do with them. It seems like they have plenty of the newer blue ones.

Yes, it looks ship shape, clean and inviting.

The laser light show really was a dynamic addition to the "White Hot" deck party. They also had a smoke machine. I was not able to learn whether this is a permanent addition or not. In my opinion I think this would really be a great thing for them to use all the time.

Yes, there are two Wii stations in this area. It appears to be modified from the Longboard bar. There is an air hockey table in addition to a karaoke machine.

 

The suites appear to be the same as before. I did not notice any flat screens or coffee machines though they could have been there and I just did not notice.

There are three blackjack tables set up on the pool deck.

Well I have to say I am a little disappointed there has not been a more dramatic change. Thanks so much for posting, at least I know now so my expectations will not be as high....All I really care about is I will be on vacation in 4 days and that is always a good thing!!!

Yeah, I was kinda hoping for a little more activity from on board. Guess we'll have to wait until they get home.

 

I sent my PCC an email yesterday about the camera. She said she would see what she could do.

 

If it's still that way when I board on 7/25, I'll see what I can do!!!!
