lisapz Posted July 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2008 Has anyone heard of or been on an Epirotiki Lines cruise in the Mediterranean? My first cruise ever was a five(?) night cruise around the Greek Islands and Turkey. It was a small ship. It was in the late 1970's. I was a teenager. My family and I had more fun with that ecclectic group and remember that trip vividly. I've been on many of the current, fabulous ships but I still have memories and memorabilia from our Greek cruise on The Atlas..Epirotiki Lines. Yasou! Krazy Kruizers Posted July 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2008 Most of their ships are on the bottom of the ocean.
Rare Essiesmom Posted July 8, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2008 http://www.simplonpc.co.uk/ Not all their ships have sunk. Go to this website and put Epirotiki in the search box. EM

Cricket999 Posted July 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2008 We (girlfriend and I) were on an Epirotiki cruise in 1993 on a ship called Odysseus. We embarked in Piraeus, near Athens, and did the east Med. stopping in ports that allowed us to visit Cairo, Jerusalem and Ephesus, among other places. It was only my second cruise and I have wonderful memories of the trip. Just did some research and learned, sadly, that Odysseus, when last seen, was a casino ship in Greece. It was built in 1961 and went through several incarnations, including one as Marco Polo. In 1995, Epirotiki merged with Sun Line, giving birth to Royal Olympic Cruise Line. franu Posted July 9, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 9, 2008 I sailed the Greek Islands and Turkey on the Oceanos. It was a nice cruise and I have special memories. The Maitre d' was a snob. I did not fit the image that he required to be at the "better" tables. One lunch he was out for a few minutes and we were seated by his assistant with a family who had brought their top salespeople and their families. There were 25 families and the two couples who were owners. Yes we are talking big money for Epirotiki. When he saw that we had been seated with them there were repercussions. That was too bad for him as the couples and my DH had a wonderful time and always spent time chatting when we saw each other. This was a small ship, certainly not luxury, where did the attitude come from. BTW the Oceanos is at the bottom of the sea and the very first people off the ship and on to the helicopter were the captain and first mate. The itinerary was wonderful and we had a really great time. Fran
baylivin Posted July 9, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 9, 2008 I can thank the MS Orpheus of the Epirotiki line for what I call, "the beginnng of my addiction!" I sailed her in 1972 and we visited several Greek islands and Kusadasi,Turkey. To me at the time, it was very luxurious. It was one of my most memorable vacations.:) Marcia in Hampton,VA
