Im going on my first cruise on Voyager of the seas in Sep for 1 week with my partner for our honeymoon we are also staying in barcelona for 3 nights before this. I just have a few questions about prices I hope you can help me out.

 

What drinks are free?

Is all food free except the speciality restuarants?

How much is the Bingo and how often is it on?

Is there any other hidden costs I shuld budget for?

 

Im just trying to work out how much money to take as we have never done this type of holiday before any suggestions?

 

I dont drink much alcohol but my partner has a few.

 

If anybody could help me out I would sooo appreciate it. thanks x :)

Tea, coffee and lemonade are available in the Windjammer, as well as juices for breakfast. There is coffee, hot chocolate and tea in the Promenade Cafe. Here is a tip: if you want juice for later in the day, take an insulated cup to breakfast, fill it with juice and keep it in your cabin refrigerator. At the Captain's Welcome aboard party there will be free champagne. There is no charge for any food except Portofino's and Johnny Rockets. Sorry, can't answer the bingo questions. Obviously, if you plan to gamble in the casino, you will next extra cash. However, you can get cash advanced to you in the casino and charged to your Sea Pass card.

I was just trying to think of any other items that typically cause us to spend money on a cruise. Certainly everything I'll name is optional.

 

Still, we do them. So far:

 

* We'll buy a picture or three--don't remember how much but they're at least $10 ea.?

 

* Shore excursions, which vary widely in price. You don't have to purchase a shore excursion anywhere, but we often do.

 

* Tipping, which RCI advises you about on their web site. We're happy to do this for good service.

 

* The aforementioned specialty restaurants. We do them. They're great in our opinion.

 

* We'll buy something in the gift shop. Don't buy early, as sales vary through the week. About the last day, massive sale tables go up in the promenade. This merchandise is not normally anything you'd find in the gift shops, but often we'll find a relative bargain there.

 

Those are the usual suspects for us. I'm sure there's more. We're not real big drinkers, so bar bills don't light us up. We don't do a shore excursion at every stop. We're trying to cut back on photos, although we weren't successful on Serenade.

We have already booked and paid for our Rome excursion through RCI and I think we will probably just get off the ship and do our own thing at the other ports of call, and Ive already booked and paid for Portofinos aswell. Those photos that you can buy sound good are they in a frame and who big are they coz Im sure I will be buying a few. x

Be sure to get tickets to the ice show - they're free and it's great. Also, room service is free, but most guests tip a few dollars upon delivery. Have a wonderful honeymoon and a great cruise.

What drinks are free? Coffee. In the Wind Jammer coffee, tea, juices are included. Any sodas are extra.

 

Is all food free except the speciality restuarants? Yes! You can eat 2 breakfasts (fine dining and Windjammer) two lunches (fine dining and Windjammer) two dinners (fine dining and Windjammer) midnight buffet and room service. That would be up to 8 included meals a day. No reason to starve yourself.

 

How much is the Bingo and how often is it on? $20 a session and there are extras that could be purchased. I recall they had Bingo sessions every day.

 

Is there any other hidden costs I should budget for? There are photos that the ship personel takes and some of them are so nice you are likly to buy some of them. Tipping (although that could be placed on your Sea and Sail Card (then charged to a credit card).

 

Im just trying to work out how much money to take as we have never done this type of holiday before any suggestions? Considering the exchange differences between the USD and Euro we might have to bring $1000+.

 

You just have to drink at least one exotic "Fu Fu" drink. You know, the type with the mini umbrella.

On my most recent cruise on Voyager, there was no traditional (ice sculptures, main dining room, chocolate fountains, etc.) midnight buffet. There was a late evening "themed" buffet around the pool area on deck 11 on one night only.

 

Same deal on Mariner last May.
