HKG Posted July 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Does anyone know if Monarch of the Seas Main Dining rooms have 2 persons table, I have contacted RCCL and they said no, but just want to get other opinion who had been on Monarch of the sea. Also did the stateroom receive LCD during the bedding upgrade? Thank you
JJ2sail Posted July 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2008 No LCD's. There are a few tables for two, but they are usually wedged in between tables of four, and are still pretty close.

Markmom18 Posted July 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Does anyone know if Monarch of the Seas Main Dining rooms have 2 persons table, I have contacted RCCL and they said no, but just want to get other opinion who had been on Monarch of the sea. Also did the stateroom receive LCD during the bedding upgrade? Thank you Our experience on the Monarch in November '07...our family (3) requested a table of no more than 4. We were situated in a 'side' section of the dining room that was next to the servers station. Very, very cramped. The 2 gentlemen that were next to us, requested a table for 2 , however they werethisclose to our table. So, from our perspective, yes they got a table for 2...but not of any quality or privacy. We had mediocore (at best) service for dinner that evening (2nd night) and did not return to the dining room. We're looking forward to our cruise next month, and have booked My Time Dining. We'll see...

WehoAtlantis Posted July 17, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Our travel agent called the dining room and we had no problem getting a table for two. There was a table of four on either side of us. We really enjoyed it. MIke

cruiserbryce Posted July 17, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 17, 2008 the TV's are quite small and in the rooms we have been in are located above the foot of the bed...they arent great tv's but since we spend so little time in the cabin on a short cruise it hasnt ever been an issue
garycarla Posted July 17, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 17, 2008 People talk about these LCD tvs in hotel rooms and cruiseships quite often. What is the big deal. A TV is a TV. in fact, some LCDs a minus since they give you a squished screen. Help me understand!?
WehoAtlantis Posted July 17, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 17, 2008 The squished screen just means that your aspect ratio is not set correctly or you do not have high def.
critterchick Posted July 17, 2008 #11 Share Posted July 17, 2008 The "official" tables for 2 suck, IMHO. Because they are on the perimeter of the dining room one person has his (or her) back to the main dining room, which is a pain if you want to watch the other people and the goings on. And youreallyareclose to the tables for 4 on either side of you. But, when you board, ask the headwaiter on "table change" duty (from 1-4 or so) if they can set up a table for 2 somewhere else. There are 4-tops that they'll convert for you. Late seating usually has a better shot at it as early seating tends to be oversubscribed.
garycarla Posted July 17, 2008 #12 Share Posted July 17, 2008 The squished screen just means that your aspect ratio is not set correctly or you do not have high def. Yes, as ships at sea have marginal reception in the first place and do not have high def. And if the aspect ratio gets set right, the viewing screen is now smaller. Again, why all the excitement over have lcd screens in the room?
