CruisinEurope Posted July 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2008 I've combed the web and their site - - and can't find anything in particular about this. Thanks!
78232 Posted July 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2008 I don't know about military discounts, but the organization which offers insurance to military officers and families also has good cruise prices. ( I don't think I am allowed to use names but you can figure it out)
sweet sheep Posted July 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Yes Hal does give discounts to military as well as other service people such as mail carriers, police, firemen, and etc. Ask your travel agent to call and find out for you.

jtl513 Posted July 17, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2008 I don't know first-hand, but I've read here that HAL's military/etc discounts are preyty small ... and a good TA's price can usually beat them.
Aunty Pat Posted July 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2008 HAL not only offers military discounts, but what they call community service discounts to teachers, nurses, firemen, policemen, etc. I think they also include retirees from these professions. They are usually offered less than 90 days before departure once final payments have not been made. The fares are lower than what is being offered to the general public at the same time. Many of HAL’s ships are oversold right now for the current season so I haven’t seen any of them lately. I would expect to see some come out for fall sailings after the kids are back in school.
