NitaBcruising Posted October 21, 2004 #26 Share Posted October 21, 2004 Sea, Wind, with another one booked. But my favorite was the Norway! I'd have gone on her again, in a heartbeat! Loved those huge 300 sf cat. CC staterooms! :)
98Charlie Posted October 21, 2004 #27 Share Posted October 21, 2004 Have been on Norway (1); Sea (1) and Wind (1) and will sail on the Majesty Nov. 27 for our second time on her. In fact, Majesty, Nov. 2002 was our first cruise ever and Nov. 27 Majesty will mark our eighth cruise.
Barb Nahoumi Posted October 21, 2004 #28 Share Posted October 21, 2004 In addition to the Majesty, which I clicked on, I also cruised the Sky to Alaska in 2002. We preferred the Majesty experience------------Wonderful crew. good food and service. If anyone has not been on the Majesty, hurry up----------NCL is going to retire her in the near future. ute_fan Posted October 21, 2004 #29 Share Posted October 21, 2004 We've been on the Sea and the Sun. Sun was a nicer ship, but both cruises were great. Looking at going again in 2006 -- either the Star to the Mexican Riviera, or the Dream or Sun to the Caribbean.
hogwildcruzers Posted October 24, 2004 #30 Share Posted October 24, 2004 Have been on the SKY to Alaska, the WIND to W. Caribbean and will be on the DREAM this halloween. The SKY was the nicest but love the intimacy of the smaller ships.;)

leslee Posted October 31, 2004 #32 Share Posted October 31, 2004 Starting back in the mid 70's.....the Southward, Starward, Seaward, then came the NORWAY, my all time favorite and always will be....there is not any ship, old or new, that can compare to the Norway and I am so sad that she is no longer...I had ANOTHER booking for the Norway when the accident occured and was never able to go on her again...it broke my heart.....the Skyward twice, the Norway at least 10 times, the Windward and Wind (once as the Windward and twice as the Wind), the Dream, the Sea, the Sun. With all of that having been said, I have to agree with some in previous posts and will say that NCL is not my line of choice any longer. I have cruised with many other lines in additional to NCL and now the preference is definitely Celebrity!!! NO COMPARISON!!
rebeljohn Posted October 31, 2004 #33 Share Posted October 31, 2004 I cruised the Norway back in the early 90's. Now, we have the Spirit booked for 11/28/04. I look forward to seeing what NCL has to offer with their freestyle cruising.
SailorsMate Posted November 1, 2004 #34 Share Posted November 1, 2004 I have sailed on the Dawn for it's inaugural sailing in 2002 and the Crown July 2004 and the Dream 10/10/04 sailing as well as the Norway in the late 80's, the Dreamward in either 93 or 94 and the Southward in the early 90s. Question about the above- I believe the Jewel will be delivered next fall- I was considering booking a cruise to New England/Canada- Since this will be a new ship should I be cautious?? Is there a "shake-down" period on new ships?? Or should everything be "good to go"??
98Charlie Posted November 1, 2004 #35 Share Posted November 1, 2004 Since this will be a new ship should I be cautious?? With any new business, there will be a shake down. If there is no major departure from their normal business model the problems should be limited. IMHO the problems that POA has had stem, to a great extent, from the changes necessary to accommodate the US flagging of the ship.
Lisa63 Posted November 4, 2004 #36 Share Posted November 4, 2004 The complete list is as follows: Dream (as Dreamward, pre-stretch) Wind (as Windward, pre-stretch) Sea (as Seaward) Majesty (both pre- and post-stretch) Leeward (gosh, how I miss this little ship -- any other fans out there?) and ss Norway (the grandest of them all)

Another ship trip Posted November 7, 2004 #38 Share Posted November 7, 2004 I have also sailed on some NCL ships that are no longer sailing such as the Southward in 1986, the Norway, the Skyward, and maybe one more besides a number of the ones you listed. I also sailed on the Wind when it was the Windward and then when the Wind. Wish you would have added the older ships to your poll too!
snorklinbarb Posted November 7, 2004 #39 Share Posted November 7, 2004 Shoreguy, Interesting polls you've put up....so if we've been on the Sky, do you want us to check POA? A few others seem to have done that already, but just wondering before I take the poll as I was on the Sky earlier this year.

Go for it. I have also sailed on some NCL ships that are no longer sailing such as the Southward in 1986, the Norway, the Skyward, and maybe one more besides a number of the ones you listed. Maybe the next poll is ships no longer in the fleet that you have cruised. I have to believe the Norway will win the members favorite.
pazooter Posted November 10, 2004 #41 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Favorite cruise so far as been on the Star. Reasons: Newer ship Cruise to Alaska Longer cruise Spent time with over 30 CC members while on board Why have we chosen the smaller ships at times? Convenience to us by port and great price. We wish that an NCL ship would cruise out of Tampa. That would be a joy!! Cathy
