Concierge Class on SUmmit?

We are sailing on Celebrity Summit 11/1/08 Barcelona to Venice. We booked a Concierge Class room on the Panorama Deck and I'm wondering if anyone has stayed in a CC class cabin on Summit and what you can tell me about it, ie.: What is the decor like (old or new), how much storage space, number of electrical outlets, is there a fridge, is there a mini bar and is it expensive (dumb question - lol!) is the shampoo, conditioner, lotion decent (don't want to bring my own if I don't have to!), what's the room service menu like, what kind of extras and "special" treatment do you get, etc.? I can't recall what all the CC amenities are, sounds good, just wondering if it's worth the extra cost and what people who have stayed in CC rooms think! We paid $200 to upgrade so it was not a bad deal in my opinion. Thank you!

The rooms are a bit bigger. You get a welcome bottle of Champagne. Your choice of pillows, of course you have to ask. There will be a fruit bowl and you will get daily canapes (around 4:00 PM) One of the nicest things is there is a special check in line for suites and cc rooms, which is much shorter. Upgraded towels and robes. You will get personalized stationary and a nice canvas tote. There are fresh flowers in the room as well. The breakfast menu is expanded with special items, such as a fruit parfeit, french toast, etc. Over all we feel it is worth the extra cost. Enjoy your cruise.

Your choice and decision to get a conceirge class room is a excellent one. My parents and my own family of 4 took 2 rooms of Celebrity Suite

and the service that they gave us is the best. I think suite and conceirge

class guests are treated the same. The linens are better, better room servcie menu, a butler at your disposal, bigger rooms, daily fruits & canapes, priority on almost everything. If cruising on a celebrity, being in a suite or conceirge class rooms, your money is worth what you are paying for.

Just to clarify, concierge class do not have access to a butler. I wish!! :D

If you don't like the canapes you can ask for a cheese tray. My DH is perfectly happy with the shampoo and conditioner but I am a bit fussy and bring travel sizes of my Frederick Fekkai Technician. The hand held hair dryer is tucked away in a cabinet. Look for it so you don't have to use that awful thing in the bathroom.

Have a wonderful time!

Here are the specifics on the Concierge Class rooms:

When you stay in a Celebrity Concierge Class Stateroom on Celebrity Summit, you will receive these added amenities and more:

CC Stateroom: 191 sq. ft. Standard is 170sqft

CC Veranda: 41 sq. ft Standard is 38sqft

•Welcome champagne•Daily fruit selection•Fresh-cut flowers•Daily hors d'oeuvres•Menu of pillows - Conformance, Body, Goose, and Isotonic®•Duvets and pillow-top mattresses•Leather key holder, personalized stationery and a tote bag•Double-thick Frette bathrobes•Hansgrohe® showerhead•VIP invitations to events•Early embarkation and debarkation•Dining and seating preference•Preference on shore excursions•Express luggage delivery

We go with CC whenever it is within $100pp or so because of the extra space and the breakfast menu which has a lot more options. I don't have the menu, but it is expanded to what is normally avail in the dining room for breakfast. The standard veranda is more limited choice, although some posters have said they write in what they want and get it.

The above info is listed on the Celebrity site under Ships, staterooms.

I was on Summit through the Canal in 2007....you can get lots of extras or substitutes as stated above on concierge class. My three favorites are the Main dining room dinner menu can be ordered in your room (ask your cabin steward for the menu) If you have a lot of tender ports then having the ability to virtually be escorted to the front of the tender line is a HUGE bonus and my other favorite has already been mentioned....swapping the canapes for cheese plates in the evening. The cabins are a bit bigger and have a huge amount of storage....If my other half says they are adequate for a 2 week cruise then believe me they are. Electiric outlets are limited to one in the cabin and the usual one in the bathroom. I always bring an electrical strip (i bring a bunch of electronic gadgets and battery chargers are a must) No minibars. Hope this helps

Are there refrigerators in CC? I see you say no minibar, which is fine with us as we usually have it emptied anyway, but am just hoping we have way to keep my wine cold. Thanks in advance.

Yes, there's a minifridge but it is stocked with for-purchase drinks. You can have the steward empty the fridge for you at the start of the cruise so you can then use it for whatever you want.

You've brought up a question I can't seem to get answered! I'm in a CC on a Med cruise - does the easy / early disembarkation AT PORTS (not the end of the cruise) include non-tendered ports?

Or do you still have to wait until al the ships's tours get off? Do you then get off next, or is it the usual long lines?

I'm travelling with others, not in CC cat....will they be able to exit with me?

Thanks for the experienced knowledge you're willing to share!

Now we know that those balconies come in all shapes and sizes (Look at deckplans), and many of the non cc verandas are bigger!!! (3sq' = probably 6" wider...which probably matches the wider width of the cabin)

We were on the Summit in June (Venice to Barcelona) and had a CC cabin on the sky deck. There was a small fridge with mini bar items but it barely kept things cold. The rest of the amenities were fantastic as mentioned above, and I felt the combination of being a Captains Club member and being in CC gave us an extra level of service wherever we showed the gold seapass. It is a great ship and that is a great itinerary! Have fun.

You said you upgraded to CC class for $200...check the current rates for the upgrade charge from a 2A to CC class is now only $50 per person or $100 per cabin. We are also on the 11/1/2008 Summit Cruise and have just asked our TA to check into an upgrade for us into CC Class....but we do not want to rebook with a new confirmation number and incurr the new Fuel charges.

to anyone sailing on the Summit in Concierge Class---I STRONGLY recommend finding out if Hendry is still on the ship. We sailed in cabin 9154 in April. He is simply the best. As are his assistant Michael and the cabin attendant Wilma. Seek them out.

For non-tendered ports as soon as the gangplank is deemed ready anyone can get off when they want to.
