Armandocme Posted August 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2008 Do you still need a passport for a cruise to nowhere ( 1 or 2 night cruise out to sea and back)?
cb at sea Posted August 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2008 You don't need a passport to cruise the caribbean now! A BC and DL will suffice. It's different if you're leaving from a European port, tho. But for a Caribbean thing--it's not the caribbean countries that require passports for cruise passengers anyway! In 2009, it's the good ole USA that is making us get the darned things!
paul929207 Posted August 9, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2008 If you leave from the US and return to the US and never visit a foriegn port, no passport is needed.

cherylandtk Posted August 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2008 If you leave a US port on a round trip (back to the same port) you don't need a passport now or in the future. The June 1, 2009 WHTI Passport Regulation has an exemption for cruises. Land borders, yes you will need a passport in late 2009. Not so for cruises.
