dmc1025 Posted August 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2008 I believe we will be taking our first Alaskan trip on Princess. I want to do the Tundra Wilderness Tours and I was wondering if this is something Princess books or do you have to call the tour company and set it up. Also if I have to call and make a reservation how far in advance should I do it to get on an early buss?
NancyIL Posted August 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2008 If you book a cruisetour with Princess - it automatically comes with either the Tundra Wilderness Tour or the Natural History Tour. (Choose a land tour with the TWT.) If you're doing an independent land trip, then you would book either the TWT or the shuttle bus on your own: http://www.nps.gov/archive/dena/home/visitorinfo/bus/reservations.html
Budget Queen Posted August 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2008 Are you looking at cruisetours???? AND I assume you already have picked out a one way cruise?? You would NOT book just the TWT with Princess, it would be "included" with a multiday package cruisetour. Be VERY CAREFUL and DO YOUR HOMEWORK, understand everything about the tour, distances, time in transit, time at destinations, etc etc. Understand, cruisetours, for the time involved see the least and cost the most. Avoid short cruisetours, less than 5-6 days. There are non cruisetours to also perhaps consider, and independent travel is simple to arrange, if of interest. If you are an independent traveler, I never recommmend the TRIPLE priced TWT, instead, only the Eielson Shuttle bus, as my min. distance in. Get familiar with Denali Park and understand the distances in, which make all the difference.
