QM2 2006 on West Coast of US

I just read a posting taht the QM2 will be on the west coast during the winter of 2006....itins to be announced 11/1/04....anyone know anything....

The source given by origional poster was Bill Miller. It sounds very interesting news. I hope it is confirmed by Cunard. it will be great to give people in LA a chance to see QM2 and compare it with the Queen Mary.

Just back today from last voyage on Caronia where it was announced that Commodore Warwick will be staying until 2006 so that he can take QM2 to Hawaii.

I've checked Cunard site and a couple online agencies, I have not found anyone listing these cruises yet.

You will have to call direct to Cunard, they will give you information

on fares and dates etc. Am told they will not advertise these

sailings for quite some time.

They are though accepting bookings.

I was able to make a reservation today directly with Cunard., which I then transferred to a TA. Interesting, the cruise does not show up on any online TA site, but Cunard says they have quite a few rooms blocked by travel agents already.

You are very welcome, and...as a matter of fact, some people

are complaining that the prices out of Calif. are way too high.

Not true, I checked on PG and QG fares yesterday and they

are quite less expensive compared to with what I paid

for my voyage back in April.

 

On a secondary note, it would be wonderful if Cunard

would be able to berth QM2 in Long Beach ( vs. San Pedro )

close to the original "Mary". What a photo op. that would be.

We're booked on the 3 night Baja cruise on the QM2. I only knew about it because a close friend is a TA. She said they've been booking this for almost a year now and do not allow any group bookings on this one. Yes, the prices are high (we usually sail on the mass market lines), but this will be my only chance to ever go on the QM2, so I splurged. I would rather do this than spend $1400pp for an inside on Disney!

Wendy in OC, I see you live in Orange. My husband works there, we live south of you in Mission Viejo. Are you considering the 3 day QM2 cruise?
