Getting Cash On Board

Recommended Posts

Why not just bring the cash you need? You'll have a safe to keep any extra in, and you won't incur any "fees" or charges by using the ATM or casino to access your credit card. We bring about $1500 for a week--we seldom, if ever, use it all, but it's there if we need it. Whatever isn't used, goes back home and into the bank!

Realize that AMEX isn't always accepted in every port or store. Neither is Discover!

MC and Visa is the most widely accepted card in foreign ports.

There are ATM's on board. There is a flat $6 fee per transaction.

The Purser's Desk (Guest Relations Desk) will cash a personal check for up to $200, once per cruise per passenger. (someone told me that it's $250 if you show an American Express card, though I'm not sure why that's such a wonderful thing. :))

The Purser's Desk will also cash traveler's cheques without charge.

The Purser's Desk will also exchange bills, large for small or vice versa.

The cashier in the casino will give you cash on your SeaPass account for a 3% fee.

Th-th-th-th-th-th-that's all, folks.

:D
