I agree on the temps, but the waters can be a little choppy especially on the Eastern route in Dec-Jan.
CroozeAddict Posted October 2, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2008 We always cruise in January and the temp's are in the mid 80's with calm seas.
martinchem Posted October 2, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2008 Awesome, we do a caribbean cruise every december!
wrp96 Posted October 2, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2008 The Caribbean itself is very nice in December. The problem is that if a cold front comes through the US embarkation/debarkation can be cold and you may encounter rough seas before you actually reach the Caribbean. Also, if a cold front comes through Florida it can affect the Bahamas as well.
sross6019 Posted October 2, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 2, 2008 Have sailed 2x in Dec and 1x in March. Prefer Dec hands down. Beautiful weather, usually 80-90 range (90 being the rare one day). Calm seas once away from the States.
browneyes7 Posted October 2, 2008 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2008 We have taken our past 2 cruises during the month of September. I am wondering what the weather in the Caribbean is like during December? The weather in the Caribbean is always hot. We have been almost every month of the year. Take shorts and other clothes for hot weather. :)

mauimary Posted October 2, 2008 #11 Share Posted October 2, 2008 We have sailed numerous times in Dec. eastern-western and Panama-lovely time of year-crowds are down and weather is great. We usually do an early dec and are home before Christmas-actually one of our favorite times of the year to cruise-on top of that prices are usually less!!:)

cruzobsessed Posted October 2, 2008 #13 Share Posted October 2, 2008 we only cruise during christmas/new years. the further south you go the more you'll be "guarenteed" hot and sunny weather. the year we did the serenade out of puerto rico and went south....we had unbelievable weather. then last year we did a cruise to the panama canal......now that was HOT:D

G'ma Posted October 2, 2008 #15 Share Posted October 2, 2008 We have taken our past 2 cruises during the month of September. I am wondering what the weather in the Caribbean is like during December? Absolutely gorgeous. I always cruise during the first two weeks before Christmas. Prices are better, not many kids, and the weather is almost perfect with much lower humidity. Cruising89143 Posted October 2, 2008 #16 Share Posted October 2, 2008 Have cruised about four or five times the first week of December and the weather has been outstanding. The Caribbean is much nicer at that time of year. Not as hot or humid. No issues with rough seas either.
maitaiguy Posted October 3, 2008 #17 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Cruised the first week of December. Great weather, probably perfect weather actually! The rates were terrific and the ship was beautifully decorated for Christmas! Enjoy!
rclcruzer Posted October 3, 2008 #18 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Cruised a few times over Christmas and it was so nice! We are no strangers to cruising in August and there is a big difference in temps that's for sure! December is great.....enjoy :D;)
MarinerBride Posted October 3, 2008 #19 Share Posted October 3, 2008 It can be a little windy and chilly at sea if the sun isn't out, but mostly it's great! We cruised last December for our wedding, and we're going again this year for our anniversary. :)
dbk64 Posted October 3, 2008 Author #20 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Thanks for all of the replies! I am sure we will have a great time. I do have one more question...How are the temps at night? Should we bring jackets to wear if we go on the pool deck at night?
browneyes7 Posted October 3, 2008 #21 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Thanks for all of the replies! I am sure we will have a great time. I do have one more question...How are the temps at night? Should we bring jackets to wear if we go on the pool deck at night? I take a light jacket on every cruise because many of the ships have very cold areas. Also, it can be very windy and cool on deck. Have a great cruise!!:)
