Cost of Passport

Does anyone know what the current cost of a passport is? My son and his wife will need them for their first cruise and I wanted to let them know so that could budget the expense. Cruise isn't for almost 2 years.

16 years old and over it's $100 and extra if you need it expedited.

 

Under 16 it's $85.

 

Expedited is $60 for each application.

A new passport is $100 per person. If you need to get it in a hurry, there is an extra charge for expedited service.

Don't forget the cost of getting the passport photos taken. I had them take photos at the post office we applied at, and they charged us $15 each (just a few weeks ago). All info about passports, including where you can apply at, is at travel.state.gov.

Also, you can get photos taken at CVS or Walgreens so they are a little bit cheaper. However, I did this and when I took my shots to the post office they said the size was off just a little. So they had to re-take my pictures anyway. I just went back to CVS and got a refund.

I'm a member of AAA and they took my pictures and charged about $8.

I haven't tried this but apparently it is a good way to get a passport photo at a reasonable price if you have a good picture to submit.
