Q.E.D. Posted November 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2008 Wondering whether to bring my own pillow (we are driving to the port, not flying). I can't sleep with the kind of thick overstuffed pillows that are in most hotels and usually bring my own, very thin one. Does HAL offer thin pillows or just one standard type? There is a range of pillows on each bed, but they are all too stuffed for my preference. Sometimes the steward can get you one that is a little flatter. geshaw30 Posted November 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2008 Correct. There are a range of pillows provided in a king size bed format. Our bed had 7 in all. Several of them appear fluffy at first but will flatten out for you (al la feather pillows). The beds are like no other you'll find on any cruise line.....comfort beyond belief
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2008 If you don't like the pillow that is on your bed -- you can ask your steward for a different one.
Juanita462 Posted November 1, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2008 DH always brings his own pillow - even when flying. He uses a very small thin pillow and we have never been able to get this onboard. The small pillows have been thick and won't flatten. We both bring a small pillow - I have a dust mite allergy and the specialist told me that after one year, half the weight of any pillow is from dust mites. I don't think they change the pillows that often. we put the pillows in travel bags and suck the air out with a vacuum and they don't take up much room and are very light. We have never had more than 2 pillows per bed and those were always the same size.
sail7seas Posted November 1, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2008 I have to hunt around most cruises to get the pillow I like. They don't have many very firm ones...... I don't like the soft, thin fluffy ones but DH does. I want a thick, firm pillow. :)
