Same ship. Have been on Golden 3x, Star twice.

How do they compare to the Sapphire/Diamond? Better or worse?

I just got off of the Star yesterday and had a dandy time. She just came out of drydock last month so MUTS was added as well ad the International Cafe, and Vines. I have also been on the Sapphire/Diamond and as of right now they do not have MUTS or International Cafe. As I understand they will be coming soon; no one has an idea when. The Sapphire and Diamond have 4 anytime dining room of a different theme. Frankly all of those ships are classified as Grand Class ships except the Sapphire and Diamond was made by a Japenese firm where as the Star, Golden and Grand were made in Europe. Maybe other people on this board can add more.

At Present, the Star is proably one of the most up to date ships out of the Princess fleet, untill the Ruby Princess comes out next Week.

I actually like the Sapphire and Diamond more. It is like they took the design of the Grand class and slightly improved on it.

Look On the News Section on the princess website. On the article about the Star princess refit, it tells you the dates of the other ships refurbishement.

Oh yes!! The Golden is scheduled for April 2009 and we're sailing on her in July 2009.
