dubaihammer Posted November 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2008 We are doing a B2B from Sydney on the Rhapsody of the Seas. Has anyone done this before, and if so what is the procedure?
pcur Posted November 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2008 Hi, are you going next Spring or Fall on the Rhapsody? We're booked on her for the South Pacific cruise out of Honolulu on 9/30/09, then continuing on the Australia cruise on 10/17/09. We've been on b2b's before, but since turnaround will be ocurring in a non-US port, the Aussie immigration folks will be determining how it's done. Usually you either show up in one of the lounges that morning with your passport, or RCCL might escort you off the ship, do the immigration business, and then you go back onboard. They will give you your new seapass card either the day before at the Customer Service Desk, or at the time you do the immigration. It's usually very painless. If there are a lot of b2b-ers on board, the line might be fairly long, but it's much easier than the usual check-in at the pier. After that, you can get off the ship and go sightseeing. Sometimes RCCL will have a shore excursion set up for the b2b-ers. We're probably going to catch the Sydney hop on/off bus and see the city. I hope you have booked the same cabin, because it makes things a LOT easier: no packing and unpacking. In the case you do have to move cabins, the staff will assist you. Try to get the same cabin, though. B2b's are wonderful!!!
dubaihammer Posted November 23, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted November 23, 2008 We are sailing in January. We are fortunate to have a corner aft JS for both cruises, so should not have any trouble with the luggage. This is our first B2B on the same ship and are really looking forward to it.
