What about dinner on casual nights? Exactly how casual is casual?

On most lines, casual for dinner means slacks and a golf type knit shirt or a short sleeved cotton shirt. Wearing shorts or jeans and T-shirts is discouraged.

Be sure to take various sizes of Zip-Lock plastic bags. I don't know about other lines, but you can't find a plastic bag on a Princess ship. I wish I'd had a couple to make ice packs out of when I fell down some stairs and sprained BOTH my ankles!!!

Wow, sounds like the common thread is 'too much clothing' and 'too many shoes'!

For those of you who mentioned hand-washing things: how did you hang them to dry afterwards? Is it possible to rig a short clothesline? Do I need to pack rope or clothespins?

:)Most ships have a pull out clothesline in the shower.

Also, I heard they supply you with beach towels --- does this mean the same towel all week, or do they change them out like they would your bath towels at a hotel?

:)Most ships will exchange your towel each time you use it.
