It limits offshore drilling to 50-100 miles offshore (not sure of the amount), thus limiting any good this agreement could do. :(

hawt1 Posted December 1, 2008 Author #84 Share Posted December 1, 2008 WTI currently back below $50.00. Thank you OPEC for admitting that the problem is not the price or demand but the fact that your members continue to over produce the quota restrictions to which they agree! shelbylook Posted December 1, 2008 #85 Share Posted December 1, 2008 Thanks for keeping us posted. It's only $70 for us, but $70 is, well, $70. There is a lot we could do w/that extra obc. Cathy
Girlfiend Posted December 1, 2008 #86 Share Posted December 1, 2008 We're nervously anticipating oil prices, too! Our $140 fuel surcharge amounts to more than 10% of the total cost of our (inside guarantee) booking. An OBC would be most welcome. *crosses fingers* --Michelle
PattyW Posted December 1, 2008 #87 Share Posted December 1, 2008 Just want to confirm . . .our cruise is not until March 29, so final payment is not due until early Jan. If the fuel surcharge is removed, RCCL will just reduce my final payment right? You only receive OBC if you are paid in full on December 18th, correct? corky1 Posted December 1, 2008 #88 Share Posted December 1, 2008 Have my fingers and toes crossed. I am looking at obc for 9 nights for 5 people (actually 4.5, they only charge half for 3 rd person in the cabin.)

We sail in March as well and were told by RCI that they would not be reducing final payments, they would just be giving OBC.
crusinmama06 Posted December 1, 2008 #90 Share Posted December 1, 2008 Wooohooo - keeping my fingers crossed too. I hope to see $180 OBC. That will buy a few souvenirs onboard. :D
corky1 Posted December 1, 2008 #91 Share Posted December 1, 2008 can obc be used to pay tips?
crusinmama06 Posted December 1, 2008 #92 Share Posted December 1, 2008 can obc be used to pay tips? Yes, because tips can go onto your sea pass charge, as will the OBC. So if you wait until you get onboard and add the tips to your account, then the OBC can be used for it.
TEXASMUNK Posted December 1, 2008 #93 Share Posted December 1, 2008 yes, just have them charge your account.. Stock Market tanks AGAIN today, but oil slips almost $5.00 a barrel. We will be our OBC but be too darn broke to spend anything else!!!

We sail in March as well and were told by RCI that they would not be reducing final payments, they would just be giving OBC. My guess is they are thinking if they give it as an OBC, most people will feel obligated to spend it on board, and thus they still get most of the money.
